Love and Trust are altruist ideas if not applied to yourself first.

In any realationship it is important to be what you want to achieve... if you want unconditional love, be that unconditional love
If you want unwavering trust, be unwaveringly trustable.
But since all relationships are really a mirror of what is surfacing in your own soul, you must first be the love and trust for yourself. That means not putting yourself in relationships with those who your instincts tell you are not on your path. Practice discerning what your instincts tell you by honoring yourself.

When you honor yourself with complete unconditional love and you trust yourself because you know that you will not hurt yourself by placing yourself in precarious situations, you will attrack the same type of partners.

Be aware of what thoughts you really have of yourself and your surroundings. You are your own wisdom and that is the biggest blessing you can ever give to any relationship.

i think the most important thing is communication..trust..loyalty..respect and of course LOVE in one another. Without those i don't think you really have anything..Without communication..there would be no way for you two to talk..you have to keep on talking to know more about your relationship. Trust is knowing that you can be real with him in every way possible. Loyalty is a big one..knowing that he will never do anything to hurt you..sexually or emotionally. Respect..having the respect for you no matter what you look like or become. And of course LOVE without that there wouldn't really be a relationship besides just being friends..there wouldn't be anyone that wouldn't compare to you in any other person than the one you're with. There i think..i said it ok..not sure..but i hope so.

I don't believe in one single thing being the most important because a relationship is not a single thing it is a duet so there are atleast 2 equally important things; TRUST AND COMMUNICATION with Respect being up there as well

There are so many that comes to my mind, but i would say in my relationship,it is not just love and trust, but being best friends.I feel that being best friends in a relationship is one of the most important ones because this is my mate and i want to know everything and my mate wants to know everything there is to know as well, this way we really get a understanding with one another of our feelings and thoughts. Also on what to expect from one another,we have a great relationship and been together now going on 11 years.I truly don't think we would of gotten as far without being best friends threw what life has thrown at us,its curves and failures, but by us being best friends we faced everything together, every tear, every laugh just everything that friends share.Like i mentioned there is so many that are important, but friendship to me is the one i hold dearest to my heart! I hope this helped you out,Good Luck to you!

There is no ONE thing. It is a balance of:

Respect and Admiration

Love--and I mean being COMPLETELY vulnerable...knowing that you risk being hurt by one another because this person knows EVERYTHING and STILL wants to be with you...and vice versa.

Trust

Communication

Honesty

Patience

Committment!!!!!!!!
