Prayer, the bible, a bible dictionary, and a concordance. I would also suggest two to three different versions of the bible.

I use several versions of the Bible when I'm studying. The back of one of mine (KJV) has a 1 year plan for reading the bible, with an old testament and a new testament passage each day. I use a notebook to write out any questions I have. I spend roughly 30 minutes in a quiet place (some days more, some days less) and focus on the scripture, analyzing how it applies to my life.
I also use the people resources I have. My pastor is one I often ask, as is the lay preacher in our congregation. My adult bible study class is another group I discuss ideas with.
If you look at places like Cokesbury.com there are several courses that will walk you through a personal bible study. Good luck!

initiate with Romans. THat finished e book is so remarkable. i admire the 8th financial ruin, even yet it truly is between the books that is examine from start to end with little or no help. i could additionally propose which you study with different persons. Fellowship approximately what you examine. once you initiate noticing how the property you examine pops up in life at as quickly as, it is going to likely be great to be waiting to share that which contain your study significant different. There are Bible analyzing classes. maximum church homes have an prepared analyzing time table that places previous testomony passages with New testomony passages that are appropriate. yet comprehend that the enemy will attempt to distract you. Be sturdy. that's yet another reason to no longer flow it on my own.

Faith, a clear mind, and prayer for understanding...and of course, the KJV of the Bible. The ye's and thou's may get you at first...but pray for that understanding, and ask with sincerity. God gives liberally(James 1:5). I'd suggest maybe keeping a journal too, keep track of what you've read, and what the words meant to you.

Try keeping your own Bible journal. Write what you think the passages mean, in accordance with the rest of the Bible, like writing your own concordance.

A good study bible, a notebook, maybe a concordance, quiet time and a desire to learn. Ask Him to speak to your heart.

Bible education. Like Jesus was getting to age 30. Like I have been seeking for 43 years,
Abraham
2083-25-Isaac-2108-60-
Jacob-2168-90-
Joseph-2258-110 dies-2368, end of Genesis,
2368-65-Job dies.
2433-80-Moses-2513 = covenant Heirs.
Trek 40-2553 Moses dies.
480-Solomon 1King 6:1; 3033 + 36 = 3069.
Judah kings-[390 years, 5 months =] 391st years to 3460 after Adam.
Can any one prove this wrong?
Gen 12:4; Abraham is age 75[born year 2008 is 2 years after Noah dies],
Abraham in 2083, gets the covenant, is age 100[or 25 years later],
Isaac born Gen.21:5; in 2108 at age 180 years, dies.
Isaac age 60 when sons born. 25:24-26; Isaac died 2288.
Jacob 2168 + 130 Gen.47:9; Is in Rameses Egypt 2298[less 2083 = 215 in Canaan];
Jacob 2298 + 17 years he dies Gen.47:28; 2315 after Adam.
2298 [Joseph was age 40 of 110 = ] 70 = 2368 dies Gen.50:26; End of Genesis.
Exodus 7:7; 12:40,41; 430 years after covenant to Abraham in 2083 = 2513, Moses is
age 80 and was born 2433 or 65 years after Joseph dies. He is 4th generation after
Jacob = Gen.15:13,16; Exo.6:16-23,26.
