Why not take 2 extra seconds to check if what they are saying actually makes sense? Are they just very young kids or just really don't give a dam$ how stupid they appear?

If you will notice most don't know how to read either! maybe they should change the colour from blue to bright red and more will see it there and use it!

Hmmm....sometimes when I want to be first to answer a question, I skip that part.

When asking a question though, I always make sure that I check it so that people can understand what I'm saying well enough to answer my question.

Maybe it's laziness? Or the fact that with all the text messaging and instant messenger, spelling doesn't seem that important anymore?

There are a lot of young kids on here too. It's kinda scary how young some of them are.

Also, maybe they plan to edit once they see their question. I always catch more errors once it's on the screen for some reason.

Just thought of another. Maybe sometimes they *are* spell checking, but it's one of the mistakes that spell check can't catch. Like if you use a correctly spelled word incorrectly.

Here's more on that:

Spell-check programs catch spelling errors, not errors in usage!

Listed below are words and phrases that occasionally are used improperly after a spell-check program has been run. Spell-check programs are useful for catching typographic errors and misspelled words, but they don't work too well as proofreaders. There's no substitution for careful and close reading.

Pay particular attention to homonyms -- words that have similar pronunciations, but different spellings and meanings.
