I've dated a couple people I've met online..and hey..it didn't always work out..but I made some great friends...it's the easiest way to meet someone really....with the hectic life that everyone has today....just be cautious and get to know the person before meeting privately.
Lol..I live 3 minutes from the guy I'm dating now...and we'd probably never met if it hadn't been online.

I don't think I would ever date someone I met online. But that doesent mean it's bad. I think you should no a lot of information about them before you go meeting them. There's a lot of weirdos out there. You also have the chance of dating someone you don't want to date. For instance have you ever seen the movie "Must Love Dogs"?? Well The women in it ends up dating her father by accident, LOL. But, hey it could be rewarding, good luck , and have fun.

I've got a very positive experience to share for this. I met my boyfriend on myspace almost 2 years ago and it's been great. But like in real life, in online dating, you still encounter plenty of toads. I'd about had it when I met my boyfriend. I emailed him first because he was in one of my groups for a TV show we both worship. I always considered myself an expert on this show so I emailed him about it, and that's how we began exchanging emails. We soon learned we had so much more in common than just this show, and after some persuading by him, he convinced me to give me his phone number. He called me that night and we talked for hours. After many long phone calls that had gone great, he then convinced me to go out for a date. It was the best decision I've ever made as far as I'm concerned. We enjoyed each other's company very much, and the very next day, he called me and asked me out for another date, which I happily agreed to. We've both fallen completely in love with each other and are very happy, so you can find success with dating people you meet online, even love, but just like real-life dating, it takes some time before you can find someone you'd like to see again. And again. And again, and you get the idea.

The only thing that has been weird for me is explaining to his friends where I came from. (I'm not actually dating him, we became good friends and hang out all the time, which kinda makes it more weird.) The concept seemed weird to me, but I think I just missed that generation of internet junkies. It's only different in the fact that with someone you knew as a friend, you had time to get to know them outside of the concept of dating. With the online thing, "dating" is always looming over the situation.

Nothing wrong with it, as long as you do your homework and make sure they aren't psycho! Start out in a very public place...

i myself have dated several people that i have met from online, in fact my childrens father i met online when i was 19 yrs old and i am 23 now, and i also met the man to whom i am with now from the internet, he came from chicago to springfield illinois to be with me and he is an awesome guy for the most part, dating from the internet is exciting and fun but at the same time u need to be very careful and never meet someone one on one because you could end up hurt really bad, and that wouldnt be a good thing, it is very easy to tell someone alot of things on the net that aren't necessarily true.

If you like them and they seem to like you why not try and see how things work out. Just be careful the first few times you meet with them in person to make sure everything is safe. Meeting online now is just another way to meet someone.

It all depends on the two people that are meeting. I honeslty think its just like finding someone at a bar. Its only about sex. But there are a few far and between that do work. However, all my encounters have been bad!
