I worked in a bank--they send it to their own bank account in Mexico-most of the time-to save on taxes. Some (not most) send it to their families. If it was all going to their families Mexico would be in better shape.
I also worked for health benefits-they don't declare their Mexican bank account.
And yes all companies should be held accountable to prevent this.

Nothing is secret in Western Union.. .it is open to everyone and it is not illegal.. I think they work for these money and they don't steal it , if so they would not send it to Western Union because it could be traced..

it's a secret????
guess you don't live in a very integrated community, here in birmingham its common enough knowledge that i dont even think anything of it. they come from poverty, they're the only person in their family to manage the difficult task of emigrating to a prosperous country and taking on a sub-minimum wage job that very few of the natives want to do, why is it such a surprise that they don't actually forget about their loved ones and so send a little bit of cash home to improve their lot no end? (not much left from minimum wage after rent and food, but enough to make a hell of a difference)
its not exactly like many of the west's richest folks investing their money in tax-free "offshore" banks is it...

Western Union is too expensive, there are other cheaper money transfer companies that most use.

It isn't a secret and it isn't illegal to send money abroad. They already worked for this money, the problem lies in how easy it is for them to get jobs here. Go after the companies that hire them.

They aren't the only ones, BofA and others do. There are a ton of ways to catch them. The problem is so many police departments have been told it isn't 'fair' to even ask if they are illegal or not, even if they are stopped for something else. We just have to get rid of sanctuary laws and require enforcement.

Good point. I went to B of A yesterday and noticed that everything was written in spanish just as big as it was written in english. It isn't harassment to ask someone sending money to mexico to show your their ID. Hell, I had to show two forms of ID just to cash a B of A chasier's check.
