At home cocktails, or at the bar, or storebought... what can I make/drink that won't ruin my diet (besides bacardi and diets)?

Gin, rum, vodka, tequila, etc. all have about 65 calories per one ounce shot. The real calories come from the mixers, which is why you should stick to low-cal mixers. Vodka and cranberry juice is a good choice, because although it has calories it also has the antioxidants from the cranberry juice, and the juice itself is good for your digestive and urinary systems! Anything pre-packaged like Smirnoff Ice will be extremely high in sugars, and consequently high in calories.

Alcohol has some 500 calories per 100 ml. Everything else comes from sugar. All mixed sweet drinks have sugar. Beer has a lot (maltose). Believe or not tonic has most sugar of all the mixers. If you don't believe put a drop of tonic aside with a drop of any soft drink and let them dry, tonic will leave stickier residue. I would drink long drinks with sugar free mixers like rum an coke (light) or gin, lemon and sprite (light) = Tom Collins I've even learned to drink whiskey soda. Red wine (not lambrusco or some sweet stuff) or dry white are always good choices.

White Wine is OK, if you are concerned about calories, If you want to make the calories even less, then mix the white wine with club soda, crushed ice and a twist of lemon.

Also, Grapefruit Juice, and Vodka isn't to bad, it doesn't have too many calories.

Vodka has the least amount of calories and sugar of any alcohol.
A vodka Diet 7 is always good! You can add a little splash of pineapple,O.J,cranberry or grapefruit juice to the top to make it tastier!

Any light beers - come on now... we all know that when we diet, you cannot count calories from alcoholic beverages you just don't do it! ( helps you feel not so guilty when you are having such a good time ) Give yourself extra time in your day to work off that fabulous night you just had :)

When in doubt don't drink it. If I decided to go out, I'm not worried about my diet. Hell I look good with or without a diet. A few drinks is not going to kill me.
