God told Noah: "And as for you, take for yourself every sort of food that is eaten; and you must gather it to yourself, and it must serve as food for you and for them.” (Gen. 6:21)
"Later on the dove came to Noah about the time of evening and, look! there was an olive leaf freshly plucked in its bill, and so Noah got to know that the waters had abated from the earth. 12 And he went on waiting still another seven days. Then he sent out the dove, but it did not come back again to him anymore." (Gen. 8:12,) This indicates that vegetation was growing again on the earth, like the olive tree. After Noah sent the dove out the third time, it did not come back, which most likely shows that ample vegetation had grown on the earth to feed the dove.
Yet, some olive trees in the Flood apparently retained their vitality, enabling them to sprout fresh shoots when the waters receded.
Concerning the olive tree, 'The New Bible Dictionary' states: “If cut down, new shoots spring up from the root, so that as many as five new trunks could thus come into being. Moribund [near dead] olives usually sprout in this manner also.” It is “as if its vitality were indestructible,” says The New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge. No human today knows the details, such as salinity and temperature, of the floodwaters. Hence, we cannot be sure about their potential effect on olive trees and other vegetation.

Just a thought. If God when He devastated Egypt kept Goshen separate from much of the plagues, who also stopped the sun from setting when His people were at war, Provided manna in the wilderness that would only last for one day during the week but 2 days over the Sabbath, provided food for Elijah by Ravens and also gave Him food once that gave Him strength for 40 days, provided water from a rock for all Israel, and the list goes on, then providing for Noah and his family would be no big deal. God could have caused some plant life to survive the flood or cause new to rapidly grow. Noah was in the ark till the ground was dry.
That is why God is called our provider.

Genesis 8:11 tells us that a dove returned to the ark with an olive leaf in its beak.
This happened before the flood had completely dried up.
Noah and his family, and the animals, did not leave the ark until after the flood had dried up.
So, if the dove could find some vegetation before the drying-up of the flood, it's not at all unreasonable to think that there was plenty more vegetation to be had after the flood had receded.
I hope that makes sense.

As one that practices a faith tradition of Christianity, let me offer this very firm theory within the Christian Scholar community. The Flood is a metaphor, and should not be read literally. For reference and possibly as justification, most will think the flood was for 40 days and 40 nights, well WRONG!!!
Gen,.6: verses 5-8 Source- J writer (Yahwehist)
Gen, 6: verses 9-22 Source- P writer (Elohimist)
J refers to YAHWEH in 5-8; and P refers to GOD in 9-22;
Both are seperate accounts of the same story.
Furthermore, then: Gen.7: verses 1-5 is written by the J writer (Yahwehist), while 11-21 is written by a different writer which is consistent and is obvious the P writer.
SOooo, - The P story tells of a 370 day flood, beginning with the 150 days of swelling water:
Gen. 7: v. 24 by P -"And the waters grew strong on the earth a HUNDRED FIFTY DAYS".
When following the story, the Ark is actually opened when the Flood waters receded which was a period of 370 days.
But as the chronological telling of the story, spanning 3 chapters in Genesis consistently gives an account of the 370 day flood, One verse, placed rather out of content in the story makes reference to 40 days and 40 nights. It is written by the Yahwist - J
Gen 7: v. 17 by J - "And the flood was on the earth for forty days and forty nights
The 2 versions are consistently interwoven in the story, but verse aafter verse is contrary to one that either precedes it or, is written after the first statement. When put together as stories by eeach writer, there are two completely different stories stating totally "actual details". For example, P has one pair of EACH and EVERY Type of Animal (Gen:6:19; &:7:9, 16); while J states Noah took SEVEN PAIRS of clean animals and ONE PAIR of unclean animals.
MOST IMPORTANTLY- for those that spew GOD WAS MADE THEN, WAS MADE WHEN JESUS WAS ON EARTH AND IS STILL MAD AT ALL OF US TODAY, ONLY the J telling of the flood story, portrays a God that can regret the fact of what he had created (Gen. 6:6,7). Very contrary to the earlier statements about God in Genesis as An all-powerful, all knowing, and all loving God, that can actually be grevious about what he created!?!!??!, (Gen. 6:6).
the Elohimist (P) telling of the story makes no reference to God being upset with his Creation or the Need for a Sacrifice.
Then oddly, by reference to Yahweh by J in the whole story, and the reference to God by P in the whole story, it is obvious, and totally out of context that J adds flood was actually 40 days and 40 nights in the middle of the story of the 370 day story.
Either by Review of the above verses or reading of these two or three chapters the two stories even share verses. (The Bible was not put into Chapter and Verse until 350 years after the death of Jesus who became the Christ.

Who said that all the vegetation was wiped out? The Bibile says in Genesis 8: 11 that when Noah sent out the dove , the dove brought back a fresh olive leaf . How can there be a olive leaf without vegetation?

Fish were never wiped out. Animals they took with them on the ark, Plant life somehow survived because Noah is recorded as making a vineyard pretty soon afterward.

The boat was tremendous, they stored vegetation, seeds, food, and water. Plus they were on the water, i imagine they netted fish of some sort.
You're inferring that you dont believe the story is true, either by God not being real, or him being a liar. So honestly i dont see i reason why people should try to convince you otherwise.
You should decide for yourself what you believe. Since apparently you already have. Dont judge people for what they believe. Every ones allowed to their own.

They were on the ark for over a year. How do you think they ate on the ark? How long did they wait to leave the ark after dry land had appeared.
What you need to ask is how did that monkey turn into a man, and just where did that monkey come from. You got a whole lot more problems than we do.

There's not enough water in the world to flood the Earth, so the question is moot...
Otherwise, they could fish. The sheep would have taken care of Noah's needs and the fish could have fed them all!

The animal that Noah sacrificed was taken onto the ark with him, I have not calculated how many animals of the food kind that 7 of each could produce in a year for those eight people, I just know that Abraham was born 2 years after Noah died,
At one point he had to go into Egypt to survive because of drought, but they survived as to history below.
Abraham
2083-25-Isaac-2108-60-
Jacob-2168-90-
Joseph-2258-110 dies-2368, end of Genesis,
2368-65-Job dies.
2433-80-Moses-2513 = covenant Heirs.
Trek 40-2553 Moses dies.
480-Solomon 1King 6:1; 3033 + 36 = 3069.
Judah kings-[390 years, 5 months =] 391st years to 3460 after Adam.
Can any one prove this wrong?
Gen 12:4; Abraham is age 75[born year 2008 is 2 years after Noah dies],
Abraham in 2083, gets the covenant, is age 100[or 25 years later],
Isaac born Gen.21:5; in 2108 at age 180 years, dies.
Isaac age 60 when sons born. 25:24-26; Isaac died 2288.
Jacob 2168 + 130 Gen.47:9; Is in Rameses Egypt 2298[less 2083 = 215 in Canaan];
Jacob 2298 + 17 years he dies Gen.47:28; 2315 after Adam.
2298 [Joseph was age 40 of 110 = ] 70 = 2368 dies Gen.50:26; End of Genesis.
Exodus 7:7; 12:40,41; 430 years after covenant to Abraham in 2083 = 2513, Moses is
age 80 and was born 2433 or 65 years after Joseph dies. He is 4th generation after
Jacob = Gen.15:13,16; Exo.6:16-23.26;
