I care about this person a bunch, and hate that people talk about them. The breath is a constant problem and I know for a fact that they brush their teeth.

Really there isn't a good way to tell somebody they stink, b/c who wants to know that. But pull the person to the side and let them know, be nice about it and watch your wording. Tell them you thought they should know to protect them from being talked about. win win situation!

You shouldn't, unless you plan to osculate or otherwise become intimate.
If it is really bad, use a mint yourself. Offer one to them, but even if they don't take it, the powerful smell of the mint in your own mouth will provide cover.
But don't mention it, unless it is chronic (as in ALL THE TIME). It may be a medical condition. It may be treatable or not. Certain cancers cause awful smells. Ulcers will cause aroma problems.
The bottom line is that until a few years ago, EVERYBODY stank. Baths were a weekly ritual, not twice daily. Dental hygiene was unheard of. Personal hygiene meant that you wiped the poop from your boots before you walked into the house.
I know bad breath can be unpleasant, but for God's sake, show some perspective here, and some sensitivity.
How would you feel if you said, "Ewwww! Your breath STINKS!" and they replied, "It's the stomach cancer eating me alive. So sorry."????
Grow up.

I would say that you need to brush your teeth or after u eat some chew on some gum or some tic tacs. But pull them aside and tell them that you have been getting completens about the bad breath.

It depends on who you are referring too. If it is an indigent, child or disabled person, then you should be very delicate or not address at all. If it is a well-adjusted grown person, why be polite? They weren't polite when they exposed you to their putrid smell or heinous breathe.

Just get out a mint or a piece of gum for yourself and then offer them one.

If it's breath, offer them gum. If B.O. is really a consistent problem, just be as kind as possible.

It's not easy.
Get out some gum or mints, take some yourself, and offer it to the person. If he/she takes it, you're good. If he/she doesn't take it, you at least have a good taste in your mouth.
