Prior to breaking up I gave her one of my rings. To date she has not returned it. Why?

You gave it to her - unless you specifically said "Oh, & I want my ring back, too!" when you dumped her she probably figures she can keep it.

Usually when you give someone a present you don't get the choice of getting it back. Was it an engagement ring? Did you ask for it back?
Miss Manners says that an engagement ring need only be returned if the woman does the breaking up, otherwise she's entitled to it.

How long ago did you give it to her? How long where you together? and how Expensive the ring?
If you just gave it to her (then she broke up) and it was expensive ASK FOR IT BACK. you got used.
If you where together for a long time and gave it to her a year ago, she want to remember you, you'll be a jackass if you ask for it back.
But since she broke up with you do you care if she thinks your a jackass?
(I have Somegirlfriends I still care about, and some I dont, and some with friends i care about.)

Probably she still likes you, and she wants to keep the ring to remember you.. or.... she liked the ring, or she simply doesn't know you want it back... anyway, why do you want it back?? i mean, you gave it to her, it's hers already.. =)

maybe it is like a trophy to her. maybe you are a hot stud and she wants to have trophy to show off. or she just likes the ring.
