I walk my dog about 2-3 times a day and he always does a #2 on our walks. of course, this is in someone else's yard.
i always clean it up...ALWAYS!!!!
but, i was wondering if anyone felt this was rude behavior??
i mean, i can't control where he's going to go and i can't not take him for walks...so, would you mind if he used your yard as long as you knew it would be cleaned up????
thanks!

I don't consider it rude behavior at all. You make the effort to clean up after your dog, and I applaud you for it. It is so aggravating to see people who don't bother.
So, go ahead. Use my yard. I'll wave at you from the front door with a smile. Just try to run off the people who don't bother to be as considerate as you.

As a homeowner, I don't like people letting their dogs poop in my yard. As a dog owner, I understand that sometimes you have no control over what your dog does, so then I appreciate people who clean up after their dog goes. But, and this is a big BUT... dogs only behave the way they have been taught to behave, even if it's just a matter of having been allowed to behave in a certain manner. A dog owner can teach their dog NOT to go where every or when ever they want. So there's the crux of the whole problem... pet owner's not taking the time the train their pets properly, therefore making excuses for why it's okay for the dog to poop on my grass. I just don't get it, though... they teach their kids not to poop in my grass... why not the dog??????

I know i always feel really bad even though i clean it up, too. But what you can do is train your dog to go in a certain spot on your yard. then you can just let the dog out to go to the bathroom, insted of using a walk as the bathroom time. That a different story if your dog gets a cent and pees a little on it, that cant be helped. So to sum it up, train your dog to go in one place on your lawn. then use walks as an exercise rather than bathroom time!
good luck though!
by the was I'M NOT A CAT OWNER AS SAID IN OTHER RESPONSES. I'm only trying to help out you so that you don't have to have the embarrassment.

Absolutely not, I wouldn't mind. Like you said, if you're cleaning it up, and doing right by the dog by walking him, what's the problem. My pet (ha) peeve is when people get annoyed when the dog poops on the shoulder, which most places is public right of way. Rest easy, you are doing what you can!

Actually, that's the only thing that I ask. A dog's gotta' go when and where he's gotta' go, but if you will clean it up so I don't have to clean it off my kid's shoes, I think you're great.

I think it is admirable that you clean it up. Many owners would not. And you can't help where your dog decides to doo ... anyone getting mad, especially when you clean it up, is looking for something to complain about.

As long as you curb your dog - clean up after him - he can go anywhere he wants. Anyone who says otherwise is a cat owner, and their opinions aren't valid.

As long as I am not cleaning it off my daughter's shoes or my husbands or my own, let them go. I have neighbors that have cats and they think that my yard is their litter box, really makes me mad, they don't care, my neighbors or the cats. I clean up my doggies mess, even in my own yard. Who wants poop in their yard? Not me. Thanks for cleaning it up, wish you were my neighbor!

Probably would upset me.. keep an eye out and when they do come by with their dogs, ask them if they would try to keep the dog from pooping in your yard. You can report them to the neighbood society too, they will send them nasty letters.
