This last guy just typed out a lot of bullshit. I am pissed at myself for even reading all of that crap. And espike is wrong about the no-first use. The US not only maintains that it may use it first but it also maintains that it may use nuclear weapons against a non-nuclear state.

1. The United States is one of the five "nuclear weapons states" permitted to maintain a nuclear arsenal under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, of which it was an original signatory on July 1, 1968 (ratified March 5, 1970). Although the The 5 NWS parties have made undertakings not to use their nuclear weapons against a non-NWS party, the United States, for instance, has indicated that it may use nuclear weapons in response to a non-conventional attack by "rogue states".

2. The U.S. cancelled its offensive biological weapons program by executive order in November 1969 and February 1970 and ordered the destruction of all offensive biological weapons by February 1973. The U.S. ratified the Geneva Protocol on January 22, 1975. In March 1975, the U.S. ratified the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC).

3. In May 1991 President George H.W. Bush unilaterally committed the United States to destroying all chemical weapons and to renounce the right to chemical weapon retaliation.
The U.S. Congress has since passed legislation requiring the destruction of the entire stockpile by December 31, 2004. Official U.S. policy is to support the Chemical Weapons Convention as a means to achieve a global ban on this class of weapons and to halt their proliferation.

Oh and the arabs, they had palaces and cities and knew how to read, write, trade, build ships etc. while Europe and America were barbarians and were still living in caves. The arabs gave the west the modern number system and they also carried the concept of zero from India to the west. What Europe and America boasts of today started with what they got from the arabs. But with their religious fanaticism their progress stalled and they fell behind. America is powerful and advanced today but it too is witnessing a religious fundamentalist movement. And if it continues on this path then the only thing separating America from its dark days is time.
Civilizations rise and fall.

Nuclear weapons - although we have no announced a 'no first strike' policy we use them as a deterrent to keep us from getting attacked with WMD.

Biological weapons - we do not possess any and will not use under any conditions.

Chemical weapons - we will not use lethal chemical weapons under any conditions. We reserve the right to use non-lethal chemical weapons when we feel that this will reduce the risk to civilian lives in a combat situation.

Crzypvt had a nice long good answer... but here it goes short and sweet. as per the geneva convention

Nuclear: No FIRST use
Biological: NO use.
Chemical: NO use.

ive been in the military for sometime now, and we've never ever been trained on deployment of Bio weapons. although... OC Spray, and CS gas are considered Chemical and we use those on new privates in basic training, and against people in riots....

Only the US and our allies can take part in any of those activities. Anyone else should be dragged in front of the UN Security council and threatened. Failing that the US will accuse the UN of being a failed organization and will take matters into it's own hands. If this country has some economic value to the US we will go and occupy the nation if not we will impose economic sanctions and starve the country to death.

No prob bob, here goes.

NBC as it is called in the military is for America like a shield. Think of it like this. When you were a kid there was one other kid that nobody picked on. He was big maybe or was tough, But everybody knew that to mess with him was to ruin your own day.

That big kid is us. We as Americans use our NBC arsenal as a sign. "You think that your dangerous? Take a look at me. You black my eye I'll break your nose."

More than anything else it is a deterrent. In the course of "Normal" war fighting NBC is not something we use, it’s something we worry about the other guy using. Why you might be asking yourself don't or wouldn't we use a NBC agent in the course of a normal war?

Well the long and short of it is that it is ugly. If you spend 10 seconds on the internet you can see what NBC can do to you. Ask the Japanese. What happened at the end of World War II so horrified the world that not one nuke has been used in anger in over 60 years. That's not too shabby for a world with wars everywhere. Cold or Otherwise.

During the cold war we shook our ICBM stockpile at our friends behind the curtain and they did the same to us. We raced them to build them bigger and faster. We dreamed up so many worse case scenarios that our only plans were. If we get wiped out then they are going with us.

Bio weapons... Just google Sadam. Take a look at what the Bio weapons he "didn't have" did to thousands of people.

Then just to frost the cake a bit come Chem weapons. When i was in the Army there was a film that my NBC NCO showed me that still haunts my dreams. The crap that is stockpiled all over the world is a nightmare in a war head. If you would like to wake up screaming in the night i hear that you can download it now. Good luck if you do find it make it a point not to send me a link.

So now after all the bad things i just said you might be asking "Gee Mister why can we have those things but we freak out when other people who live in the sand have them?" And this friend is the simplest of them all.

I remember the first time i heard sting coming out of the speakers asking "Do the Russians love their children too?". That is the major change between our old cold war ideals and today's war on Terror.

We knew that the Russians did indeed love their children, very much so. We both liked to dance and sing happy birthday. We both wanted to build a future where our ideals and our children lived in harmony. We wanted to be the best and we wanted our children to be better. We raced to space. We raced to the moon. We raced for super submarines, we raced and raced and raced to be the best. Sorry to say it because i know that my life would not be as wonderful today if things were different but those were the good old days. You knew that if war started. You had 8 minutes to say goodbye, It wasn't personal it was just the end of the world. Kinda scary to think of those as the good old days but i grew up under the red threat and kinda miss my commie bad guys.

Well if you skipped most of that last paragraph you didn't miss much other than my point. The Russians love life and so do we. We would rather fight and live than just die.

Our good Islamofascist buddies hiding out in caves on the other hand have no problem with death. As a matter of fact they have a problem with life. "You live in crap, here's a bomb go get some girlies and drink tea with Allah.". When you have nothing to live for dying doesn't sound so bad. But why gentle reader i can hear you saying, "Why do they live in crap."

Well if you read my childhood musing about the communist you'll remember that we were in a race. We were building a future. Ahh...I hear some of you out there in internet land saying. Yes the Islamofascists don't want to build anything.

So.. Let me break it down like a shot gun for ya bucko.

Your born in crap right, you have nothing, you live in the desert for Allah's sake and nothing grows in the prophet be damned desert. So what is there to do. Lots actually but if you grew up in a desert going to learn from some 3rd grade educated radical you wouldn't want to listen to me either. So what can you do. Well even in Allah's country nowhere there is TV. Hollywood is in more places than the common cold. (Don't belive me look into it, creepy eh.) So you can see that the Americans and the Europeans have stuff. Cars, boats, houses and their not in the desert. Why is that you might ask...and here comes the man with the plan.

Now according to some folks it would seem that we as Americans and our good friends the Europeans stole everything we had from the Arabs.

Wow.

Didn't know that did you. Your house is built on a strong foundation of theft from the Arab Muslim world. And if it is then it's got a few pounds of Fairy dust in it too...but that was off topic.

So your dirt poor, pissed that your not Brad Pitt, pissed that you don't have wheat fields. But you do have one thing. And it is the greatest thing of all.

Faith.

So let me digress again for a second. I think that faith is great and i have as i like to put it a "Kick ***" relationship with God. He has an open invitation to grill any time he wants, we talk a lot (Well it is kind of one sided). But i do see the influence of God in my life. So i would like to think that i may not understand everything but i do understand the faith thing just a bit.

So where was i, Oh yea faith. It's great. Allah loves you and he hates the Americans. Your life here sucks but if you act now Ali Ali Ackbar will throw in a vest of explosives and an all expenses paid trip to one of many exciting locations. Beautiful Iraq, home of those fighting badgers and as many infidels as you like. OR you could visit the Holy land, see the dome of the rock. Go to a night club full of children and then BAM!

76 Trombones in the big parade, and each one a dark eyed virgin. Not too bad. Forever after with good food, beautiful woman and not just basic cable buddy they got satellite. And all you have to do is act now.

So if you hate life and want to die... well we are just a little bit nervous when you carve a turkey let alone come within 200 miles of NBC weapons.

In the end the US would in my mind never use a NBC weapon. We have them and they have been sitting there for years. Decades.

But sadly the new bad guys, well they just plain don't care. Who dies who lives, Just as long as women can't drive and all you can say at a soccer game is "God is great".
