Ask for a conference with you, your child, and the teacher. I'm always inclined to believe the teacher first, but I like to get both sides of the story. This happened with my younger son, and once we got in front of the teacher his whole story changed and the ugly truth came out. And when the teacher heard that he felt like he was being picked on she actually apologized and explained why they have rules for their class and how important it is for him to follow the rules. He gained a new respect for her and hasn't had a problem since.

Maybe sit down with your child and ask them what truly was going on. Ask them if they were acting up or if the teacher was really picking on them. Sometimes teachers do target some kids, and if that is whats going on with your child, then talk to the principle because the teacher would never admit that they were doing it.

beat the kid, and tell the child that when you are not around they are to listen to the teacher. If they don't they may never learn anything, and could wind upworking at kmart.

if that is not an option - take a long walk with child and find out if anything is bugging them, could be a learning difficulty, or an exceptionally bright child just bored in class because it moves to slow, or any other number of problems worth checking into.

use it as a chance to bond with child. What you want your parents to say to you if you were in the child's position?

I would try to find out EXACTLY what is going on. I had to be moved from one teacher to another when I was in 4th grade cause the teacher was a psycho! Teachers DO pick on certain kids sometimes. The child may not be completely innocent in the deal, but the teacher may be extra harsh on him or her. Don't tell either of them you are going to visit, and just show up one day. Don't go in, just listen outside the door for awhile.(make sure the principal knows what you are doing, he/she may want to be there too) Good luck to you!

Have the teacher give you a detailed report of the misbehavior. Give your child the benefit of the doubt, but if it keeps hap penning, maybe you should do a pop up visit to your school. You can also request to sit in one day in the classroom and observe. If the teacher has a problem with that-you have found the one at fault. But if your child freaks out about you being present....time for discipline. Lying about it is worse.

i would go to the teacher and have a one to one talk w/them about there behavior and if that doesnt work go to the school principle.

p.s ask your child all of the questions u plan on asking the teacher before u tlk to the teacher that way u can see if ur childs story and the teachers match up

I'd request a parent teacher interview, and take my child so that you can get both sides of the story. Cahnced are your child isn't being picked on, just singled out for misbehaving, and is telling you a story to keep outta trouble...been there done that

parent conference........

1) Kids lie to cover their *** every single time.

2) Teachers are not going to call you and complain about a kid they pick on because it will usually result in a parent conference which puts their *** on the line.

3) Everyone in one room can help sort it all out.

4) I am betting the kid only complains about the teacher when you tell them the teacher called.

Old friend of mine by old I mean he is an old man told me once he learned his kids lie it was a lot easier because they knew he knew and more or less quit. They would say well no I didn't do the homework I was out with my friends instead of the normal she lost it line. H

Have a conference because it is worth hearing both sides and the fact the teacher is getting in touch with you shows they care about your kid.

I would ask for specific incidences, ask to observe class, and maybe even request a conference.
