Why do you go to confession? Why don't you?

Are you talking about with the priest or just with God? I am Catholic and the last time I went to tell my confession to a priest was 3 years ago but to God with no priest none. God is everywhere tell him what you are sorry for and ask for forgiveness then pray. You don't need a middle man to ask for forgiveness.
