The best and most expensive treatment is advantage. It's expensive for a reason, it works. That is the only product I have used on my cat and dog. It comes in a 3 month pack. Every month just cut the tip and rub it along the neck all the way to the tail. Fleas also multiply quickly. You most bomb your house. Raid for fleas is the best. You and your babies will have to be gone for a few hours. Take them to the park or petco. They'll love getting out of the house anyway. If you do not bomb there isn't any amount of advantage, garlic or shampoo you can buy. Also did you know that fleas can cause anemia in animals? YOU MUST BOMB YOUR HOUSE GO IN, AND AIR IT OUT. WHILE YOUR DOING THAT BRING YOUR BABIES IN FOR A BATH AT PETCO (or where ever you would like) PUT ON THE ADVANTAGE THEN BRING THEM INTO THEIR NICE CLEAN FLEA FREE HOME. Don't be surprise if you get lots of wet slobbery kisses for this.

becareful with over feeding of those products. You may want to switch to a different flea product (Advantage or Advantix) Have someone come out and spray your yard with a flea killer, or buy stuff and do it yourself.. DIY and and similar stores sell good products. If you bathe too soon either after or before applying the product it will not work as frontline and other products work with the oils in the skin and washing strips the body of oils.. Try using a flea shampoo then waiting a few days to apply frontline or other products. There is a pill called Capstar that will kill fleas immediately but only works for 24 hours.. the pill is awesome for emergancies. Also I recommend sprinkling Borax laundry powder on your carpet.. If you leave it sit for as long as you can (24 hours is best) then vacuum and toss the bag into an outside container (or empty your bagless outdoors, and off your grass) that will pull up any fleas or flea eggs in your carpet and leave it smelling fresh! Bathes between doses of frontline or other products should be done with a light shampoo.. either aloe and oatmeal or baby shampoo. Even Dawn dish soap will help kill fleas! You may look into a soapless shampoo, as it will still clean your pet but not strip the oils from the body. Other than that, its flea season so hunker down and bear through it!

Well Frontline is a great product. Sometimes pets need it every 3 weeks but do whatever your vet has pescribed. You could also ask for a capstar tablet fro your vet. Capstar kills fleas on your pet in about 30 minutes and lasts for 24 hours. Rarely does Frontline not work and you may have to try Advantage or Advantix but I'm not a fan because you are not able to bathe your pet. That should take care on the pet. Now treating the house. There is a product called Flea Stoppers which is a white powder that you apply to your carpet and your vacuum that up. It works really well and it last for some time. It might also help if you treat your yard as well. I am unsure about any products on yards, though.

Fleas are aggressive little buggers, and the only way to get rid of them sometimes is to get aggressive right back.

Get that flea dip at the vets, the follow it up with Frontline applied to the head:That's usually where the fur is thinnest.

Then get a powder like Sevn dust or some other kind of flea-killing powder and spread it on your carpet and furniture, let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes, then vacuum. And vacuum every day until the fleas and eggs are all up. Arm and Hammer has a wonderful product for this. Make sure, though, that you wear a mask and gloves. You don't want this powder getting into you.

Good luck!

The problem is all the fleas and eggs in your carpet and furniture. Vacuum the carpeting and then sprinkle the 20 Mule Team Borax on the carpet. The Boric Acid in it kills the fleas. You will have eggs hatching for about 2 weeks so keep at it.
Frontline does work. So does Advantage. So does Bio Spot which is otc. The fleas can still jump on the dog with all three, but cannot bite so they will jump off. With no dog to bite, they are going to come looking for you.

Hartz does not work very well and has caused a number of side effects on dogs. Don't use it.

I have used a lot of things, including brewers yeast. I find that frontline works best for me. Are you sure you are applying it correctly? It must be put directly on the skin with the hair parted. It has to be put on every 4 weeks. I don't know of anything that works better, or even as well.

The best way that I have found is to give your dog Sentinal once a month.. .It is a heartworm pill, but it also kills all kinds of worms and other stuff but it sterilizes fleas so when they bite your dog the meds in the system will make it to wear the flea can not multiply. I live in texas and fleas are a problem with our heat.. And I promise I have never ever even see a flea in the house or been bitten by one since I put both my dogs on this.. You can go to your vet and tell him you want this... It does cost.... it depends on the dogs size though.....

When you bathe the dogs, put in a little dishwashing liquid (like Dawn) in with their shampoo. It suffocates the little suckers and kills them.

Also, if you see them in the house, vaccuum daily. And at night, get a shiny metal pie pan, a little dish soap, and some water. Mix the soap and the water together in the pan. Put it on the floor in a dark room and shine a bright light (like a desk lamp) into the middle of the pan. The fleas will be attracted to the bright shiny light, jump into the pan, and since the soap will coat them and keep them from jumping out, they'll drown.

You mat want to try dusting them in diatimaceous earth. You want to get the king that is food-grade. Goggle it to find sources. What is it? The skeletons of minuscule fossilized critters (I'm not joking). How does it work? The sharp edges on the skeletons tear open the under sides if parasites, causing them to die. I own a laying hen operation and use this to control lice. It is all natural and will not make your animals sick. You must make sure you purchase food-grade, not the type used as a pesticide because it tends to also have poisons mixed in.

Frontline, faithfully applied, first get the fleas out of your house. treat everything the animal come in contact with, including couch, bed, your bed, all sheets, whether be washing, or steam cleaning. All carpets, and if you faithfully apply the frontline and get rid of the fleas in your house, you'll be peachy keen. Don't forget their cloth toys too.
