Why did Muhammad kill people in battles such as the Battle of Badr and the Battle of Uhud? If any Muslim would like to explain this, I'd really like to know.

Muhammad does what God command him to do without arguing.

if you lived during that time and converted to Islam, they will take you and tortured you. they used to give muslims hard time.

one of the punishment for muslim converter was a big heavy rock setting on your cheast till you die. God Order Muhammad to fight for protection.

Muhammad never lost a war. he was supported by God indeed.

Well, as a Muslim first off I'd like to explain that the prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) was the best of people. He would never hurt any one much less kill them purposely. But Allah (God) said to the prophet (peace be upon him) that if someone initiates a war then it is your duty to fight back in the name of Islam. But if you read the history carefully the Muslims never actaully were the ones to go and start a war but they were always willing to fight for their religion.

Also I despise the anwsers given by some people saying the prophet was 'evil'. All that is, is ignorance. The prophet was not one who wanted power or money, he wanted to lead people in the right direction. If he wanted monye then he woukd have taken it easily when it was offered to him by his companions but he didn't, instead he gave all he could and was a great man and one to be looked up to and admired as the best of mankind. also there was another comment made about the nine year old that distured me, the prophet married Aisha a companion but the age differs some say she was engaged at nine and married at 14 at that time this was normal and the prophet never did anything crude or wrong, but was a devote Muslim that followed the true and pure religion of islam to the fullest.

The battle of Uhod can be considered as self-defence from Muhammad, but no way to consider the same for the battle of Badr.

The battle of Badr was initiated by Muhammed's desire to loot caravans owned by Quraish (his enemies). Uhud was a self defence

No prophet ever kills anybody, its gods will to begin or end someones life. If the purpose is fulfilled the body has to be left. Now what becomes the medium is not the question. Muhammad was a medium.

Muhammad ( peace on him ) , like all people ambitious for power wanted many many followers. The more followers the more powerful and the richer.
Convert or be killed. Kill everybody who will not follow blindly, and you're all that's left. Powerful and rich.

Quranic message is very clear.

"But if the enemy incline towards PEACE, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in God: for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things). (The Noble Quran, 8:61)"

“If they leave you alone and offer to make PEACE with you, God does not allow you to harm them.” (QURAN 4:90)

PROPHET MUHAMMAD PBUH PROHIBITED THE KILLING OF CHILDREN AND WOMEN

"During some of the Ghazawat of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh a woman was found killed. Allah's Apostle disapproved the killing of women and children". Saheeh Bukhari (Volume 004, Book 052, Hadith Number 257)

The God of Abraham picked men to be prophets who were to give a message to the people. NONE of the prophets of the God of Abraham killed or were warriors because they HAD GOD TO PROTECT THEM. Mohammad was not a prophet because he was Not like the peaceful prophets that had come before him. NONE of the prophets in the Torah or the Bible needed weapons because GOD WAS THEIR WEAPON. A TRUE PROPHET DOES NOT NEED TO KILL & WHY WOULD GOD NEED A MAN TO FIGHT WHEN GOD IS ALL POWERFUL? Mohammad was NOT A TRUE PROPHET.

Muslims will only weasel their way out of it.

He killed people because he was evil. He admitted himself that he was possessed by a demon.

Also he had sex with a 9 year old girl.
