Any sin is making God less than us or thinking we know better or that God isn't who He says He is so all sin has pride involved. We think we are God or at least better that God when we sin

Pride is a word. It is the meaning behind the word that matters. Pride is a great sin. There is a fine line between having faith in someone or something and having pride in something. When it becomes pride, it means that because the person is proud, they will not accept their own faults when the thing they have pride in is challenged. This is when pride is a sin, when a person is not humble(the opposite of prideful) enough to admit their mistake and learn from it. Pride causes great contention without resolve. When a prideful person meets another prideful person that disagrees, they butt heads and anger and content are created, causing evil things like violence, war, murder, conspiracy, theft, and other horrible things.
Pride is especially bad because often pride leads to a feel of not needing God thus turning away from him. Being prideful against God will lead to no longer finding a reason to follow his commandments thus breaking even more sins because of pride.
But the three greatest sins can be said thus:
1. Knowing God but deny him and rebel against him (like that of Cain and Lucifer)
2. Murder (abusing the power to end life)
3. Immorality (abusing the power to give life)

I'm going to expand on Grandma Suzy answer.
See if you have enough pride or arrogance then you can easily do other sins. In other words I can kill this man and get away with it because I am that good.
Pride can lead you into doing a lot of stupid things. Another example that you will see here is close mindedness.
Your religion is wrong because mine is right.
See the truth is pride itself is not a sin, but it is a root to most (if not all) sins.

I like the answer that was given in scripture. The opposite of Pride , Humility, as spoken by Jesus: "Of myself I am nothing. The Father doeth the works." If you can grasp what that says, then you'll know why Pride is the greatest of sins.

Because "pride" has been redefined since the ancient texts that the Bible was extracted from were written. I believe the original texts were actually speaking of "Hubris", which can be defined as "excessive or overbearing pride". In greek theater, Hubris is almost always the eventual weakness that destroys the powerful leader. Since excessive pride can destroy even the most powerful person, the Christians may have this one right.

Pride keeps us from doing so many things.. God wants us to be humble. To him and for him. in psalm 10:4 it says that someone who is prideful has no room for God. his ways are always prosperous. The bible says that humility comes before honor. A mans own pride will ruin his life but he will have rage against the Lord. I was always taught that everything you do, do for the glory of God. You have no control over anything, it is all God's doing and it is only right to give credit where credit is due. How can you do that and be prideful?

Because Satan is the originator of pride and it was pride that caused him to be expelled from heaven. It was pride that caused him to enter the Garden of Eden and corrupt mankind. Pride is the source of all sin.

Her punishment in hell isn't with the aid of fact she didnt include Christ. Her punishment is with the aid of her life of sin. No guy or woman is with out sin, its in our nature. Telling a lie, hating somebody, thinking lustfully approximately somebody you're no longer married too, stealing some thing (even some thing small) are all sins. there are a decision extra, a number of that are very diffused and uncomplicated like idoletry. If she has broken any of those regulations, and he or she has, then she is to blame and the Bible says she would be punished by making use of going to Hell. Now, think of roughly this, if I went to court docket and informed a decide, look i comprehend I stole a vehicle, even however, i'm a intense-high quality guy and that i do sturdy deeds. additionally, decide, I washed and waxed your vehicle out interior the parking zone. ought to the decide permit you loose? If he's a sturdy decide, then he wont. he will punish you for stealing the vehicle. The assassin and rapist isn't lots extra of a sinner than your grandmother. even however, the assassin or rapist is going to heaven with the aid of fact Jesus paid his nice. He presented to pay your grandmothers nice too, yet your grandmother desperate to stand judgement day with sin on her palms.

Maybe pride is the worst sin because if you are prideful, you may feel that you don't need God, and that is denying Him the glory that is due to Him.
