I was wondering how people get fat. Mainly the intake of food. For instance a taco bell carmel apple empenada weighs roughly 4 ounces so that that mean the most abount of fat that person can accrue from that item is 4 ounces? Just wondering how it works and what sticks to you and doesn't and how much?

Its all about calories which is a measure of energy. Each day, you expend calories to live, walk, and do things. And each day, you eat food to gain energy. If the amount of calories you intake is more than the amount of calories used you store that excess calories in fat.

So if all I ate each day was a taco bell carmel apple empenada and nothing else, the amount of calorie I intake would be less the amount I expend. I will lose weight.

Also another important fact is, carbohydrates makes you get fat. You say well theres no fat in white bread. Well thats probably true but in reality the white bread is starch and when starch gets digested and absorbed into your body it becomes glucose ( a sugar) and that sugar if not burned up gets stored away as glycogen and FAT. The excess sugars is chained together into triglycerides and store away as FAT. What an amazingly effective system. So all the starches we eat and sugar filled sodas we drink will turn into FAT.

It seems like a simple question, but it doesn't quite work that way. There are many variables involved. First, your body can produce fat from other sources like too much sugar. Second, your metabolism has a lot to do with what your body does with what you eat. Third, your metabolism can change depending on how much and the kind of foods you eat and how much activity you do regularly. That is why some people can eat a lot and be skinny and other people who are constantly on a diet are always heavy. If you eat too little your body will fight you by hanging on to your fat stores, decreasing your metabolism, and turning your hunger drive to maximum. The best thing to do is to eat healthy and stay active and your body will pick the weight that is right for you.

Ok this is what happens the fat in the food gets used up as energy, the sugar gets stored as a future energy source, it mainly get stored in the area of the stomach then the butt, and legs, and the face. Because fat is a source of energy, the body places it into two places on the stomach area, one is the lesser omentum, and the last part is the greater omentum, it covers over your large and small intestine, the fat is also used as an insulator, and also protects those vital organs. If you want to burn that fat, so that it is used for energy, then you need to go on a no fat, low carb diet, and you can't have anything that contains sugar, fructose, glucose galactose, these kinds of sugars are used for energy and the body will not use the fat. besides you need to increase your cardiac output (heart rate increased) and you will get rid of your fat.

It has to do with the amount of calories are used balanced with the calories taken in. For example if you eat 2000 calories of food and you use up 2000, you will not gain or lose weight. People who gain weight do not use as much calories as they take in (eat) which means the calories get turned into fat to "store" for later use.

i know that there are different types of fats and they all have different chemical composition. the molecules bond to the molecules we already have. some are shaped to where it is harder for them to move around freely or they weigh more, and some are healthier
