I believe some people may have been angels and those people may identify their shoulder blades with their former wings.
Additionally some people may have been aliens or earth spirits in former lives.
Look for a book about this topic by Doreen Virtue on Amazon.com.
It is called Earth Angels: A Pocket Guide for Incarnated Angels, Elementals, Starpeople, Walk-Ins, and Wizards

I think that's cute and a good story, but I don't think so. However, if you do become an angel, I suppose the shoulder blades would get in the way, so the wings would necessarily have to replace/grow from them...so it's not a bad idea whoever told you that. The tricky part here would be becoming an angel.

Another misconception of angel lore. People only become angels if they are very good people, then they get to take the places of some of the fallen angels (this is only in a few stories, however, and in others they say you can never become an angel no matter what) Shoulder blades are just another part of the human anatomy, just like your knees, legs, arms, etc.

If people had wings where their sholder blades are, they wouldn't be able to fly. All flying animals, birds, bats, and insects are in perfect balance. If you took a bird and froze it in its natural flying position ( some curl their neck back, some stretch their head out, some hold their legs stretched back, some tuck them under ). It's all necessary because of the shape and balance of the body.
The balance point of a human being is the small of the back, not the shoulders.

You were never an angel. Read the Bible. Also when you die you aren't an angel. Also read the book called Don't Buy the Lie. It has some things about angels in them. it's also a great book. You'll learn a lot from it.

I don't think people were angels or become angels. Angels and angels and humans are humans.

I used to say that to my son all the time. (he's almost 13) I have never heard anyone else say it before. Where did it come from?

No. Your wings were attached to your armpits. There is absolutely no other use for armpits and everything God made has a purpose.
