I have been jogging every morning for a week, about a mile and a half, not very strenuous. But I think I over-did it yesterday with 2 runs, knee hurt a little last night, then I ran this morning and my knee is now killing me. The pain is inside, it's very sore, hurts to walk on, and uncomfortalbe in both bent and straight positions. Also there is a slight bruise in the upper area where it hurts.
Any advice on how to best take care of it??? Wrap it up? Take Ibuprofen (or a different drug)? Elevate it, ice it, stay off it? Minimal walking? Don't run tomorrow? I'd like to make it go away by tomorrow morning so I can still run. Help! :)

that happens to me. only i have progressed to 5-6 miles a night. it'll go away. DO NOT SKIP A RUN , just take it easier and make sure you stretch the muscel or it will never heal. if it continues to hurt and you think it is serious, go to your doctor. oh, and iceing it might work, but there is no use elevating it, but you can if you think it will make it better

ice every 20 min then after about doing that for 1 hour heat for a half an hour to relax the pain away you can take ibuprofen that works well with muscle pains and joint pains. try to wear a knee brace next time you run so you dont do it again, and let it heal.also wear a brace for a full 2 days before you run again.

I've just seen a doctor this week about my knee. They said soaking it in hot water feels good but isn't all that good for me, just warm is better and cold is best. As for pain relief, ibuprofen supposedly works better, but it chews up my stomach, so I use tylenol. Good luck.

rest, and get a pak of peas out of the freezer and pop it on it. Use ibuprofen to help you with the pain. I wouldn't run tomorrow
