keep your calorie intake under 1500 or 1000 if you can, this will help with the weight loss. also.. try yogurt or carrot sticks for a snack at work. any kind of veggie you like is good. stay away from fruits.. alot of people don't know that the natural sugar in fruits isn't all that great for you either. good luck!

Most nutritionists recommend a 1500-2000 calorie a day diet, but it really depends on your metabolism; some people actually need 2000 calories to make it through a day, others might need more or less. Ultimately, it depends on how much you're burning, too -- are you working out at all? Your diet is only one component; if you're a couch potato, you won't lose weight nearly as quickly by dieting as someone who is active, and you won't gain any lean muscle, which helps burn more fat even when you aren't active.
As for low-calorie snacks, it depends on what you like. Recent research shows that if you crave sweets, substituting celery sticks and oat bran simply won't satisfy you, and you can keep munching on healthy stuff until you give in and have that sweet treat (and you've already consumed all those calories from the heatlhy snacks, so you've actually eaten more than if you just went with a little bit of dessert) If you must have chocolate, have one, but focus on savoring it, and get the best stuff -- quality foods tend to have the most flavor, so whatever you're craving will satisfy you quicker than if you go with the cheapo stuff from the vending machine.
Personally, I like carrot sticks, so that works for me as a snack, but you can also make your own granola, which guarantees you know what went into it and you can tailor it to suit your preferences. I've included a link to my favorite granola bar recipe below. (And it's darn filling, so a little bit goes a long way without overloading you with empty calories)

Try to stick with 2000 calories. That's the standard used for nutrition labels. Read the labels and stick to what they recommend. Aim for 1-2 pounds a week and look at 10-15 as a long term goal. Don't cheat, increase your activity, and drink lots of water.
Good luck!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

It depends on a few factors. Go to this site.
http://html.kcra.com/sh/health/diettv/calc/bmrcalc.html
And remember. If you cut 500 calories per day that will equal 3500 in a week. 3500 calories = 1 lb of weight. Cut 500 calories per day and you can loose 1 lb per week, cut out more and you will loose more. For snacking do carrots and celery.

Don't eat less than 1200, but it really depends on your frame and how much you exercise.
Fruits are probably your best bet for snacks- they're sweet, filling, and low-calorie. Also, don't forget to drink lots of water- sometimes you'll feel hungry when you're really just thirsty.

They usually recommend 1,500 calories a day to lose weight.
Good snack may be rice cakes, or any fresh veggies cut up, celery, carrots, any is great.
