Well, I guess technically yes, you can drink as many of them as you want. However, because they don't have carbs or calories, there are ingredients put in them to replace the sugar and fattening ingredients. Often times they put Splenda or Nutra Sweet in them, and these can be harmful if consumed in excess. My cousin has had a bladder problem for the past few years and they finally found out that she got it from eating too many low fat foods and diet drinks. Diet soda, I think, tastes good and is a good substitute for the real thing, but don't drink too many of them-- it's just not good for you.

Diet sodas (also diet, sugar-free, or light soft drinks, refreshments, or carbonated beverages) are sugar-free, artificially sweetened, non-alcoholic carbonated beverages generally marketed towards health-conscious people, diabetics, athletes, and other people who want to lose weight or stay fit.
While these drinks are marketed to those who are weight conscious, no published study has shown that drinking diet soda will cause a person to lose weight. Changing the food energy intake from one food will not necessarily change a person's overall food energy intake, or cause a person to lose weight. One study [1], at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, reported by Sharon Fowler at the ADA annual meeting, actually suggested the opposite, where consumption of diet soda was correlated with weight gain. While Fowler did suggest that the undelivered expected calories from diet soda may stimulate the appetite, the correlation does not prove that consumption of diet soda caused the weight gain. The weight gain may have caused the consumption of diet soda. The ADA has yet to issue an updated policy concerning diet soda, and may face a conflict of interest in doing so, as they are now in partnership with candy and soda companies [2].

Supposedly. But there are other dangers in drinking too much diet soda. The FDA finished some testing and found that diet sodas have cancer causing benzene in them in higher amounts than what is allowed in our drinking water.

No, it's horrible for you and has hidden sugar, not to mention all the chemicals and preservatives. Stop drinking soda all together and you'll be amazed at how much better you look and feel.

although soda has calorie free sugar in it, it doesn't mean it contains fatening ingredients. for instance, diet soda is still harmfull to your teeth because it contains acidic ingriedients. i would say diet soda will affect your health, just not as much as regular soda.
