You can't!! But there are ways that is can be reduced. Well wait, if you havent filed for some years, then penities and intrest with be added on to the amount you owe. If you pay as you go, u'll be good. If you owed on previous tax returns and u are paying them as of now, and u end up having a kid, the earn income credit and/or child tax credit can be use toward the amount you owe in previous years... but till then continue paying and stay on top of it!! Oh, yea if you go in this problem cuzz of a 1099mis, save anything that u used for that job! If it's cuzz u claim married and 5 dependent, change ur w-4 with ur job to Single 0 dependent. it will have more taxes taken out, but you wont be paying as much at the end of the year. You can also do estimate payments to ease the blow at the end of the year...Hope i was helpful and good luck

If you can prove or convince the IRS that there is no realistic way for them to collect the money and that doing so would cause you an economic hardship the IRS could agree to an Offer in Comprimise or perhaps forgive your entire tax bill. Other than that, there isn't a way to escape back taxes.

You don't. There is no way to escape the IRS. Any other moneies owed, one can find a way out of. But the IRS, NOTHING works on them. Make the arrangements to pay. Cause they'll get it sooner or later. And the longer you wait, the more it will be that they take.
