I am coming from the Binghamton area and will be in New York City for the first time. My stay will be short as I am on a budget. I can only spend $80 to $110 per night. Is this possible?

Years ago you had to call every hotel and hope to get a great deal. Now DEALS are only a CLICK away on your mouse!

The first two links are to HOTELS.COM You will have to go to the home page and put in the dates you want to go and it WILL search for the best prices.

The second link I gave you was just so SEE the hotels and get an idea of what is available--you can even sort by price! Now granted the CHEAP hotels are usually only one or two star hotels...it's your call.

Start with the lowest reasonable price for you (say $75.00) and look at how the hotel was rated by guests. And remember hotels are going to be more expensive on the weekend....

The 3rd link is for MY pick for a decent hotel at a good price with a high customer satisfaction rate.

The Club Quarters
Midtown is located in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, N.Y., near Times Square. The hotel is listed in New York City's Register of Historic Places. Broadway and Times Square are two blocks away, and shopping on the famed Fifth Avenue is one-half block from the hotel. Three blocks away, the Rockefeller Center offers views of the city from the 70th-floor Top of the Rock observation deck.

Hotel Features. The Club Quarters Midtown's dining room has been restored to resemble the original 1903 space with white molding, high ceilings and oil portraits. The hotel lobby showcases marble pillars and high ceilings. Amenities include meeting space, an on-site fitness room, complimentary wireless Internet access and complimentary morning coffee.

Guestrooms. Guestrooms at the the Club Quarters Midtown feature colorful modern artwork and mahogany furniture. Room amenities include pillowtop mattresses, complimentary wireless Internet access, large desks with ergonomic chairs, flat-screen televisions and CD players. Bathrooms feature satin-finished stainless steel and granite vanities.

LAST link--don't forget to check out the HOTEL specials on LAST MINUTE DEALS!!

Now I want to go!!!!
Safe travels!

Google YWAM. Stands for "Youth With A Mission". It's a Christian organization but don't let that put you off. They will have mission bases in most major cities. Check for bases in New york then contact them. Most bases have a specific "Mission" they are involved with in that area but they often also have private hospitality suites you can inquire about. They usually have no specific charge only a donation. Your stay often includes meals and you can rest assured any money you leave goes directly to a good cause. They bases also often have a lot of international volunteers working there so it's an awesome opportunity to meet peopl of other cultures.

Most hotels in NYC are very expensive, right now, since it is tourist season. None of them are within your price range. If you want to check how much they are going for ALONG with customer reviews for any hotel go to this link----> http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g60763-New_York_City_New_York-Hotels.html
*Alot of New York City hotels are deceiving and the customer reviews will prove it.

*You can stay at any YMCA or youth hostel but there's no guaranteed availability and most of them aren't sanitary.

* Where you stay will determine whether it will make or ruin your trip to New York City

You wanna know the secret to traveling well and being on a budget when coming to the BIG APPLE?

*** The secret to saving up to 50% in lodgings would be to rent out someone's home! These owners usually rent out their extra rooms in their apartments/homes. Plus, alot of these owners provide free continental breakfasts. Plus, these owners are much more accomodating than the hotels, their guest rooms are much more sanitary, and their rates are 50% cheaper (more or less) than staying in a hotel.

Click on the link below. See which listing fits your budget, contact the owners either by email/phone, introduce yourself, tell them the dates you plan on being in NYC, how many people will be traveling, verify their price, Always ask a lot of questions, ask for pictures to their place, and always go with your INTUITION. By the way, most of the listings should be in Manhattan, if you are not sure if the listing is in Manhattan, ask the owner because some of these listings are out of town.

That's going to be tough..

Check out the Dural or The Holiday Inn Express on Wall Street.
Even better. Go on a hotel search page and key in NYC. They should have the hotels, rates, and reviews available.

Good Luck!

Consider not staying in Manhattan, but somewhere like Brooklyn and taking the subway. It will enable you to get a nicer place to stay. For under $100 your choices in Manhattan are pretty meager.

You might want to look into hostels. They are cheap and you usually have to share a bathroom. Also if your travel dates are flexible most of the travel sites have deals.
