During labor unrest, large corporations turned to private police agencies to quell the unrest. It would be difficult today to think the position of those industries back then, to conclude or justify the use of private police methods to be just and sound. But as history reflects that industrial violence was one of the biggest problems in the 1920s between union workers and management

Uh, no? I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to (a reference or era in history would be nice!) but I would definitely say that private "police" agencies would not be accepted in today's society. For example, if you sent one to my house and they "demanded" entry... I would deny them and protect my home with my FULL and CONSTITUTIONAL (read: guns) power.
