False Religion Corrupts the Conscience

In the Bible book of Revelation, false religion is seen as a symbolic harlot called Babylon the Great. Her teachings have distorted the moral sensibilities of many people and have caused them to hate and even act violently against those who have different beliefs. In fact, according to Revelation, God holds false religion primarily responsible for the blood “of all those who have been slaughtered on the earth,” including God’s own worshipers.—Revelation 17:1-6; 18:3.

Jesus warned his disciples of the extent to which false religion would distort the moral compass of some when he said: “They have not come to know either the Father or me.” (John 16:2, 3.) How morally blinded such violent individuals are!

Another way false religion has sabotaged the conscience of many is by pandering to whatever immoral, or lack thereof, that happens to be in style or popular. Foretelling this, the apostle Paul said: “There will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled.”—2 Timothy 4:3.

Nowadays, religious leaders tickle people’s ears by saying that sex outside of marriage may be acceptable to God. Others condone homosexual acts. In fact, some clerics are themselves actively homosexual. An article in the British newspaper The Times stated that “thirteen openly gay clergy” have been elected to the General Synod of the Church of England. When church leaders abandon Bible morality and their churches do little about it, what standards should their parishioners adopt? It is little wonder that millions are thoroughly confused.

How much better it is to be guided by the beaconlike moral and spiritual truths taught in the Bible! (Psalm 43:3; John 17:17) For example, the Bible teaches that neither fornicators nor adulterers “will inherit God’s kingdom.” (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10.)
It tells us that males and females who change “the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature” are “working what is obscene” in God’s eyes. (Romans 1:26, 27, 32) These moral truths are not the fabrications of imperfect men; they are the inspired standards of God, which he has never repealed. (Galatians 1:8; 2 Timothy 3:16.)

even if that is a Christian Pastor admitting a mistake became made & God had corrected him on it. i'd look into this as a instantly ahead Christian Pastor. And comprehend he's human & makes blunders. yet he's termed to that position to Pastor & income this properly, so would forgive Him & get confirmation in my Spirit that what God instructed him became correction & also so i don't believe the flawed idea. If he became incorrect distinctive cases, then the non secular corporation probable needs an overhaul. of direction it doesn't have the completed reality. So it isn't 'the reality'.

There is only one God and Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour whom He sent to redeem mankind of their sins. There is no other saviour beside Him. Mohammed, Buddha, were sinners, the same as everyone of us. God's will is that everyone will come to the full knowledge of His Son Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so whoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3-16

No, there can only be one God. Each of the "faiths" that you mention think about God in a different way. The Bible says that there is One Lord, One Faith, One God and Father of all who repent and believe. If you believe in God's Word then there is only one way, if you don't, then why believe at all, God wouldn't care.

yes. it's no longer a matter of truth and worship. now it's about more members to make it look like you're a legit sect of religion. more member equals more money. more money equals more power and control. religion breeds hatred and division. there will never be faiths that are accepting of others. they may say they do but ultimately it's you versus me, and I'm always right mentality.

I agree 100% with what you're saying. And as far as I'm concerned, you just can't reach God/Allah/Budda/... through religious organizations...they destroy a person's connection with the superior force, they impose behaviours...It's just not right.

You're assuming Churches don't reach out to others. Have you not checked out my church? You know, spending and budget stuff are all open book in my church. If you're curious, we'd show you. We also participate in organizations for relief!

Then again, some churches do slack...

I'm prayin' for them.

GREAT QUESTION, and follow-up. The doctrinal and dogmatic beliefs of the Mega-Churches of Fundamentalism, as well as the Fanatic Branches of Islam that are absolutely contrary to the message of Muhammahad, and are borne out of a message of Fear. And it is Personal Fear, they want each person to become egocentric first and incalcate this Fear of God, and then evangelize others to Fear God. Personally I believe in the God of Jesus who became the Christ, and his Radical Message that he dared to reveal in the Temples as a Jewish Rabbi, which was absolutely intimating to the Talking Heads of Fear in the established hierachy that claimed God to be thiers. They paid the Romans to allow them to own a Mega-Temple and then prohibited all but a few that bought into their Fear-Factor message to enter. Jesus was Radically different, and told of the LOVING GOD OF HUMANKIND, ALL OF HUMANKIND. He told how each is equally created, equally loved, and equally endowed with all that comes from God. In the Hebrew Bible (a.k.a. Old Testatment, but there is nothing old about it) the Profeat Amos was also a social radical. But Jesus was the world's greatest Radical, he never backed down about each of us "Loving the Least of these, my brothers". That meant all individuals created as member of HumanKind, and regardless of condition, lifestyle of linage. This same type of effort and energy what should drive all believers. It should consume them and their message to the World, that of a living, breathing message visible in thier service and love. Interpret the feeding of 5000 as you may, but it is not simply a neat story about a miracle, its more pointedly about feeding the hungry out of love. If belivers, and I point to the MAD GOD evangilists of fundamentalism, who egocentrically spurt their man made doctrine and dogma, would spend their time and energy in feeding and clothing the "Least of these my brother" (Jesus of Nazareth, 30 BCE) belief in the God of Lord and Mercy (i.e. Charity) would evolve naturally in those receiving the Love of God through the efforts of believers and they too would soon establish a relationship with God, and there is NO FEAR NEEDED, Just a visible, active message of LOVE and PEACE, sure beats evangilism of doctrinal dogma of Mega-Churches and Temples that soon establish satellite congregations. Remember, Jesus never asked anyone to become a Christian, and as a matter of fact, he never wanted or tried to establish a new religion, he was a Jesus Rabbi that delivered a RADICAL Message of God's Love for all mankind. Jesus wanted disciples (Aramaic translation ("Followers"), he called not for a new religion.

"They just don't make Jews like Jesus anymore", (Kinki Friedman, 2006, Candidate for Govenor of Texas).

But accepting the fact you can and should establish a relationship with God does have a lot to do with it. The Love of God and the ability to have a personal relationship and know God, not just know about God, while evangelizing in the name of the one who knew him best while on this earth by living a life of Love and Peace for all Humankind is extemely important. It is like an expensive gift one just leaves wrapped up and never opens it. But Once opened you own the extremely valuable gift, it is your possescion. The message of Jesus was a radically different message, One that stated all of God's lovingly created members of humankind can possess a real relationship with God, and REALLY KNOW HIM, not just know about him (Marcus Borg, 2002, 1991). May your guestions lead to a journey that lead to your taking possession, that of a relationship of knowing the God of Love. He welcomes your questions and judges you not, he merely smiles and reaches out his hand. He is patient (the Beatitues), and the hand remains ready for you to reach up and grab hold of and become Radical in your relationship. Then, for sure, practice the charity of Jesus, that all the evangelizing necessary.
May the Peach of a Loving God Bless your Journey.
