Ham hocks are part of the ankle of the pig. It's basically a thick skin with some meat that is sold in packages smoked for soups and bean flavorings.
Add it to baked beans and when tender remove the skin and shred the meat into the beans. It's delicious.

Ham Hock?

That is another word for the feet and knuckles on a pig. Some people cook them up to eat. Mostly considered a southern dish.

It is really ham "hock" and is the shank end of the hog's leg. It is the source of meat that people who cook "soul food" use to season greens, beans and peas. There is really not enough meat on it to eat, but has grizzle and fat and when smoked (cured) and stored can be used to cook with vegetables, etc. Personally, I love ham hocks and if cooked done, can be cut up and is very tasty. (We used to love to suck on the bone)

Do you mean a "ham hock"? If so, it's a small cut of pork from the leg of a pig.

It is a hock. They are usually cooked in soups or stews till whatever meat is left falls off of the bone and imparts the flavor.
