Red will be really pretty as red looks real good on light skin tones, the best way to color your hair without damaging it is by using cellophane, it's more like a conditioner and actually strengthens your hair. I put one in my hair a few months ago and it's been growing pretty healthy.

This depends on the color that your hair is right now. The best thing would be to go to a professional and see what they suggest. Try to get a few consultations before you do anything. If you get the streaks, make sure that your hair is healthy first. Also, remember to deep condition at least once a week to keep your hair moisturized. Black hair can become very brittle when it is lightened, so just do your best to keep it moisturized. Make sure you're getting trims as needed. Also, try to cut back on the amount of heat that you put in your hair. Try to pick up products that are made to protect hair from heat (Thermasilk has some great stuff; I personally love Pantene and I would also suggest Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum). Also, if you relax your hair, make sure that you color after you relax. If you can, try to pick up a flat iron so that you won't need to put chemicals in your hair to straighten it. I use Paul Mitchell's ceramic Smoothing Iron. It's expensive, but it works like a charm, and you won't have to use it everyday.
Personally, I've always thought that carmel colored highlights look very pretty will dark hair. When I had my highlights done, I got a copper red and caramel blond mixture, which looks great for summer, and because they colors weren't too far from my natural reddish-brown color, it didn't look that bad growing out.

All chemicals alter the hair texture or health in some way so be informed of that. It depends on the color of your hair and your skin pigmentation. You could be light with yellow undertones, pink undertones or orange undertones. A professional consultation is in order. You could get some idea by the pictures on the boxes of highlighting products or from magazine ads. I prefer the light brown, bronze or golden highlights.

Red or copper will look great, but try to make the streaks very subtle and in two different shades of the color you chose to keep it looking natural. Your hair will not fall out if you take proper care of it and don't bleach it very often.

both colors would be good. Peronally, I like red, but then it's hard to wear certain colors of clothing (like pink...it just looks weird with red in your hair). Brown is more neutral. Hair colors aren't as damaging to your hair as they used to be. Anything that lightens your hair is a little more damaging than darkening, though. If your hair is dark, you may have to bleach the strips first and then dye them. That can cause your hair to dry and get brittle, but a good conditioner usually helps with that.

I think a warm blonde, light brown, deep red and maybe some red/brown shades would look good. Im assuming your hair is dark?

I would go with light brown... If I was you I'd get it done by a professional to make sure that your hair doesn't get messed up. But if you don't want to spend that much money, just make sure you read and follow the instructions on the box.

My sister did this once. She actually had the same color you had. And she put some brunette streaks in and it looked great! At another time she actually did a dark red that was also pretty. Either one would look great with the blonde.

use a goldish/light brown color. it'll be hot. and yes it can damage your hair. make sure you condition it well. use products specifically made for color treated hair.
