You are going to have to broaden your search, will you allow shipping?
Reasonable to you may not be reasonable to the breeder, who has to include all the fees required to raise/breed health genetically sound puppies.
You will run into a vast difference in prices.

Just be sure to check ALL references, especially the older ones who have had their dogs for a while. Call them and actually talk to them.
Ask the breeder for the name and number of the vet they use.
Ask for a copy of their bill of sale and health guarantee.
A reputable breeder will be proud to offer you this info.

If you want a puppy it is so important that you buy fronm a reputable breeder and that means paying a fare price. It is so important that they parent dogs has had all the necessary gentic health test done by a vet so that they don't pass on serious health problems to there off spring. The kennel club is the best place to find breeds with puppies. They also do list of breed rescue so you maybe able to adopt dog for not that much or you could try local animal rescue. But remember dogs aren't cheap to keep especially breeds like yorkies the need regular trips to the groomer about every 6 weeks which isn't cheap.

You can go online to akc.org and look in the breeders section. Your local vetrinary hospitals may have breeder names for you. Most local news papers have a pet classified section usually on Sunday.
If you know , or the vets may be able to help any of the local all-breed kennel clubs may be able to give you a name.
akc.org should have a contact for the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America, thy would have breeders from all over the country.
Only you can decide what is a reasonable price. I would expect to pay $500 to $800 for a well bred pet.

Good Luck!

Check out some shelters first. You'll probabaly be able to get a better price or for free. They're so expensive!
