The bridge might not be seated properly and may need a thin layer of felt under it. If it's not that then it may be the tail piece where the strings attach but I don't think it's likely. You need to take the cello back where you got it and tell them to fix the buzz. And don't let them charge you an outrageous price for a little piece of felt.

Peg glue (bought online) or chalk applied to the peg itself would help. Also, rewind the strings so that they're closer to the wall of the peg box. This creates tension so that they don't slip as much. When you wind them back up, turn while pushing in. Once winter is over, you'll have a much better time tuning your cello.

i play bass - and i have the same trouble sometimes when i am playing a new instrument. check your endpin - sometimes they bore the hole for the endpin to go into the cello at a non-straight line. (at least is the case for inexpensive instruments, i would assume for a good quality one this would not be the case) another idea is to re-set your bridge. although delicate, it may have something to do with the amount of vibration you get etc etc.. sometimes the tone can affect wierd parts of the instrument

Try filling it with water to see if it leaks, the point where it leaks is the point of buzz.
NO, don't try that.
Press your hand on multiple points of the lower body and play. Discover a point that alters or stops the buzz.
Consider the temperature of your playing environment- try cooler or warmer temps and observe whether it still buzzes.
Have patience.

Take it back. The buzzing can come from any number of problems, but only the manufacturer can fix them.

Something's loose and vibrating. You have fine tuners on it? One of them may be loose. If you purchased it recently, take it back to the store and demonstrate the problem.
