Can you help me? The picture on my tv screen has a big black box on it. I can see above it, below it and on both sides. What would cause this problem?

you have captions on. go to your tvs onsreen menu and make sure caption is off. it has to say off, it might be on either text, caption1 or caption2 and thats why you have that black box on your screen. set it to off.

It sounds like your picture tube is trying to go on the blink....Is the box round or square? If it's square I'm not sure what it could be. You may want to try to find a customer web site for instance if your tv is a magnavox try magnavox.com etc. they might be able to give you some insight on the problem. Good Luck

find your remote or buy a universal remote. get to the menu and take it off text . when its on text it shows a big black box. Text should be under the caption section of the menu. The big black box comes on to block stuff like nudity and violence.

Sounds like your set supports Picture in Picture (PIP) and it is turned on, but it does not have an input for the second picture.
