It looks like the same woman on both the old and the new version (even down to the hairstyle, jewelry and clothes) though the woman on the newer versions looks older.

Are you just kidding around? I think that you are kidding around. I find it hard to believe that someone would not recognize Queen Elizabeth. She is not only Queen of England, but the Queen of all the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Jamaica among others.
Although these countries are now independant countries in their own right, they are still all part of the the British Commonwealth Realm. If you didn't know that, well I guess we will have to live with it, but who possibly would not be able to recognize PRINCESS DIANA's mother-in-law??
