I think your doctor can give you better info on this than anyone here.

Google support groups but when it comes to medical advice, please consult your doctor.

Good luck

If you don't do any treatments, then the cancer will likely spread and kill you. However, If you educate yourself on your type of breast cancer and work with your doctors to come up with a treatment plan that you all feel good about, then your odds of living for a long time increase every day. Doctors are continually researching and working on new treatments, so if one treatment doesn't work for you there most likely is another one available to try. Don't give up just because you have "cancer." You can still live a long life. I am living proof. I was diagnosed with a highly malignant brain tumor in 1996! If I had believed all the literature I read back then, I would have died within 10 months. I listened to my doctors, did the chemos , radiation, and 4 surgeries, and I am still going strong today!! Definitely learn all you can about your disease and the current treatments that are being used as well as the treatments being studied. Knowledge IS power!

I know you are scared and that is ok. You'll go through many emotions no matter what you decide to do. You'll have tons of people telling you that you should feel this way or that or shouldn't. Cancer is a *****, period!!!! Research, research, research. Get a 2nd opinion on options if financially feasable. It's going to be your personal choice on chemo, surgery, radiation, or an alternative method. Not everyone lives who goes through chemo and not everyone dies. My mother passed away in Sept from it. It spread everywhere. After watching her suffer for 3 years, I would never have chemo. Personally, I think 20 years or so from now we will discuss how barbaric it was to treat cancer this way. That is my opinion though. Someone else with a mother who lived through it going through chemo may see otherwise. I had thyroid cancer last year. Although people always tell me it is the best cancer to have if you are going to get it, I get angry. I can still have it go elsewhere. I don't know, they don't know. Please do get involved with one of the organizations for support. Even if it's to yell that you are pissed off, it is probably needed. Sometimes, friends and family members can say crap that makes you more scared or angry. Survivors have another view. You may develop a sick sense of humour. That is ok too. You do whatever it takes to get through this mentally and well as physically. I wish you well. And to the person who wrote this ----"Breast cancer is not a big deal these days." Did you bother to read what you wrote? Lord, I sure hope you didn't really mean that. I am going on the assumption that you didn't mean it to come out that way and withold what I really wanted to say.

If you have just been diagnosed then I would go ahead with the chemo and radiation. My aunt was diagnosed a couple of years ago with breast cancer. She took chemo and radiation but the place she went to did not do tests to make sure they cancer was really gone when they stopped the chemo and radiation. She is now battling cancer in much of her body but she is still taking chemo sometimes and radiation too. I would recommend going to chemo because if you don't then you may not make it through. Just make sure that they do the appropriate testing and scans when they say your cancer is gone. If there is a really good cancer center around you I would go to it. My aunt go to St. Louis which is about 2 hours away from her house. They are much better than they mediocre treatment she was getting here. I will be praying for you. A lot of people make it through this cancer with no problems.

Breast cancer is not a big deal these days. You should not even think that it will take your life, for there is exceptionally good treatment available all over the world. And who or whatever gave you the impression that you will die of chemo or radiation - rubbish. I suggest you google some good websites on breast cancer and learn more about this ailment. After this, please make up your mind as soon as possible to take treatment. And remember, you cannot enjoy life with cancer - but you can by getting rid of it, and lead a normal healthy life. Good luck.

Chemo therapy is actually mustard gas which kills many healthy cells along with the cancer cells. The American Medical Association is stuck on chemo because it's good for their business. It's a rather sad state of affair with the AMA in so many ways. I just lost my mother-in-law to ovarian cancer. She wouldn't try 'alternative' treatments and went with the usual chemo. It can prolong your life, but there are better ways to proceed that will possible cure you. My father had talked of something he said was available on the internet to cure cancer. Some natural substance that killed cancer cells only and left you healthy cells alone, unlike chemo. My mother-in-law was never interested in anything alternative so I never found out about it. Please do some research on the internet to look for a natural cure. I wish I could be of more help. Good luck:)

No you are not dying. I have had breast cancer twice and I am still very alive. I can not offer medical advice since I am not a doctor but if your doctor says you should have chemo and rads then you should do it to save your life. If you don't the cancer is likely to spread and it will become a life threatening situation. If you don't feel comfortable with your doctor get a second opinion.

many women battle breast cancer every day. many women live to tell about it, and many more do not.

it depends on what kind of person you are. i know one lady who said she wouldn't go to chemo because all her hair would fall out. the doctor said if she started chemo right away she had a fighting chance, but she said no, and eventually got really upset, heard about some wack rip off miracle cure involving peach pits in Mexico. she drove up and down there, it didn't work. she died. but I'll always remember her.

her favorite quote was: "sometimes life just gives you a sock in the nose." she had a shirt that said it and everything.

whatever you decide, you've already made an impact on the people you know in life, so while its all up to you, you shouldn't feel so afraid. in the end, the world will still turn. if you want to fight, if you want to be in the world, then you have to want it, and want it bad. sometimes people dont always have it in them. i can respect that, and so can everyone else.

i'm sorry your scared, and i know you have it in you, to do what you want to do. but nobody can make up your mind for you, and nobody can make you want something that you might not want.

No you are not dying.
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 12/2003 and I am very alive today 2½ years later. Under the care of surgeons, oncologists and a radiologist, I went through a mastectomy, chemo, rads and reconstruction. You need to work with your doctors to devise a plan for you and the type of cancer that you have.
Don't give up this is a curable disease you need to fight back early and completely

Dear Mysterious, I am a 2 time cancer survivor. See your oncologist and begin your treatments and have faith in God that you will survive. If there is any problems, contact Cancer Treatment Centers of America but I believe you will be fine. I went through advanced 3rd stage carcinoma that had spread and had augmous stem cell transplant (seedlings from your body) and 2 rounds of high dose chemo in 96 a total of 35 days in an isolated room in Indiana Univeristy Hospital and I'm just great today. I'll pray for you to have a speedy return to health in Jesus name Amen.
