Yes, a church should get insurance against acts of God. In the insurance business, any damage that is related to weather is terms an act of God, because it is generally accepted that weather events are beyond the ability of any person to control. Men cannot control God; therefore, God cannot be prosecuted.

Ha ha ha, good one! God's church was never meant to be a literal church, this is the misrepresentation of humans that wish for the masses to believe in damnation so that they can pump a few dollars into these churches and use the rest for supposed power all the while allowing the members of the congregation to live in poverty. Power from an exterior source is nothing compared to true inner power. The body is the temple of God, where Christ (spirit) dwells within each and every single being. Enough of the fear based ideology!!

Why? Legally a church has to carry insurance....but doesn't say that it has to cover "acts of God". And no...God shouldn't be prosecuted for wiping out things He sees unfit to be in His creation.

in the U.K an insurance company claimed that as a way not to have to pay out to several churchs, the insurance company was defeated in court and thus had to pay out. So in answer to your question in the U.K at least he would not be prosecuted.

Yes, they should. The insurance offers financial protection to the people that paid for it... i.e. the congregation. God can not be shown to personally handle money, but members of his congregation do.

I don't think insurances pay out on acts of god, so you wouldn't be able to get insurance.

But I love the thought.

Great! Besides they also believe it happens for a reason, so why insure the inevitable?
