How about trusting yourself more... Basically, don't put yourself in the position of whatever you do/reveal being used against you. Trust that no matter what, you'll be alright. Trust you! Don't misplace your trust by putting it in other people. Be your best friend and not your worst enemy.

I've had the opposite problem - I usually trust too much. I was recently let down by someone very close to me an it hurt a lot. The first thought that came to my mine is "I'll never trust anyone again" but then I thought about myself. I'm not perfect - but I can keep a secret and I can be trusted so I know others can be trusted too. If you know YOU can be trusted, then why can't other people be trusted?

This is a serious problem. If there is or are reasons why you have stopped trusting people, then it would take you very long to start trusting again. Because of this problem you may end up suspecting people when they are innocent even. But I would suggest that you tackle each situation by its merits and not go by your suspicious mind. Trusting is very important in life. When you cannot trust, it makes you uncomfortable and miserable at times. But you have only to teach yourself to control your mind.

You need to learn that not all people are trustworthy. But some are. Only by experience will you learn to tell the difference better. Just try to get to know people and then follow your gut on who you think is trustworthy. Then you have to trust yourself to give that person a chance. If you have been hurt before, you will probably get hurt again. You just have to realize that that is a part of life, you learn from it and move on. You survived before you will survive again.

Don't listen to others who tell you that you are right not to trust. You will spend the rest of your life alone and wondering why. My suggestion is to take it one day at a time, or one person at a time, a little more each day. When someone tells you something, your 1st instinct is to think they are lying. Put that nagging voice away and allow yourself to think it may be true. It takes practice so start small. Remember, disappointment is a part of life, don't just throw people away because they screw up. Do you want to be judged as harshly?

"Just say screw it !" I am learning life is too short to worry over other people and how they make you feel........ If you don't give them power, how can they hurt you? You have to for the most part be open to feeling different ways....... Other wise you will be trapped inside a body and screaming to get out and enjoy life... And when I say screw it, I am referring to being afraid of hurt feelings. Have a positive attitude and know that you deserve to be happy and run with it... If you get hurt, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on........ "Jeffery W., how cute is that,, sounds a little kinky!" " I guess at the moment my mind is in the gutter.....!!!

Don't trust anyone. Obviously you don't trust them for a reason. They are only interested in self preservation, you mean nothing to everybody but your family.
