A voter's referendum and a city ordinance are proposed to punish landlords who rent to illegal immigrants, revoke the business permits of for-profit entities that employ illegal immigrants and make English the “official” city language.
What do you think?

scottythecomic - I don't support trying to make your situation better at the expense of others by breaking the law.

sqwirlsgrl - I don't know what exactly the English official language part means. They have to translate most stuff you would care about under federal law.
However, I do approve of making it less, not more attractive for illegals to come here. Employment isn't the only - or in my opinion the biggest - magnet drawing them here. I think it is education for their children, something we cannot bar. I would go a long way to help my kids, and helping my kids is why I am against illegal immigration degrading their education.
I am for legalization of screened illegals once we have border security and interior enforcement, but I think we have to dismantle the underclass notion that it is unacceptable to expect people to follow the law. Otherwise all the border security in the world won't keep more illegals from coming.
