Obviously everyone knows the war was declared after the 911 attack. But my question is...Who was it that attacked us? Was it Osama and his following? Was it Saddam Hussein and his following? If it wasn't Saddam (Iraq), then why are we at war with them? What are our soldiers fighting so hard and losing their lives for in Iraq? Is it oil? Is it money? What kind of relationship does the Bush family have with the BinLaden family? Why didn't we go full force into Afganistan to hunt down Osama? I'd like to hear everyones thoughts and opinions on all these issuses. Thanks

TO PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS AND TO MAKE A STAND AGAINST THOSE WHO DO ACTS OF TERRORISM AGAINST OUR COUNTRY THAT WOULD JEOPARDIZE THOSE FREEDOMS!

We are in Afganistan, the television just does not broadcast that side of the war.

We were attacked by the terrorism cell that was part of Iraq that is why we attacked there first. They have a close association with those that are in Afganistan and North Korea.

What kind of communist b.a.s.t.a.r.d. are you to put the Bush family with BinLaden?

We have been going full force towards BinLaden. But, the news only lets you hear what they want you to hear. You will never hear the truth if all you do is watch the news.

Talk to a military recruiter, they will answer your questions about why we are at war and so much more. They will even tell you stories of how much the US is doing for the people of Iraq. Just remember until we went there women could not drive (though many will say that's not a good thing, and that's men talking) but, that is a major accomplishment. But, I bet you didn't realize that. Before the US went over there and taught them the justice system and fair trial, Saddam would have been killed by now. But, instead they are trying him by a trial of his peers.

For those who say oil or money was the cause for us to enter the war, then you know what, you should have to go spend 5 years without any of the freedoms that you have here in the US, then when the 5 years is up, come back here and realize what you have missed out on. Trust me, they don't have Yahoo! answers in those countries, because you don't have the freedom of expression.

For oil.

As payback to Saddam for the elder Bush.

To save a sinking Bush ship, it was in the road to nowhere pre-911

the two things you mentioned are according to the politicians unrelated (just bad timing)
most people think its down to the oil and £££ or $$$$
however in the past the west was condemmed by all for allowing dictators to kill millions of their own people without taking any action,, there was a world wide revolt by the pacifiers stating we should take action to stop it,,
now like iraq when the west took action the same pacifiers scream blue murder,,
you can not win
i believe in peace my friend but sometimes you are forced to depend your interests and your people,, if someone threatned you or your family would you let them or would you take the steps required to defend them???
small example my friend but it boils down to the same thing sit back and be attacked or stand up and fight
you can only put your trust in the people elected by the majority and hope they get it right

OIL OIL OIL. The American economy is driven by oil, and people are scared that fuel prices will go up even more. The British fuel prices are MUCH higher than in the USA so they should stop complaining. Bush thinks that if he secures a source of Oil it will make him popular.

I agree with staple king.

You are going to get some people that are so against the war they will say anything negative about it.

One things for sure we did not go to war for oil we have found two major oil sites on US soil. I think it was because they were a threat to are country.

Who the heck cares....I don't know why this is so hard to get people to understand, no matter if you agree with it or not we are there, so instead of harping on why, lets start worrying about how. How can we get this war over and bring our troops out as soon as possible while still securing Iraq and getting the job done. An by the way Bush made a great choice and he did it to save your butt, and all this animosity against him pisses me off. You liberals don't no crap so SHUT UP!

we went to war with Iraq because there was information that said the Iraq may have weapons of mass destruction. by the time we found that it wasn't true, it was too late to pull out. if we had pulled out then, when there was no government in place, Iraq would be in a worse place then they had been in to begin with.
