I've asked the security personnel S-2 in my own unit this same question before. The answer is that Google Earth doesn't provide a real time picture, the images are not always up to date, and there is a limit to the scale of how close images can be broadcast to the public.

On the same note a person plotting an attack could just as easiley use a detailed street map, go the site and make notes of activities and take photos for planning etc.

Honestly.... why do you worry?

Recall an incident during the cold war. The Soviet Union had a satellite image of the Pentagon. They believed that there may be some sort of Nuclear facility under the center of the Pentagon. The proof they used was that many people were stopping at the building in the center of the courtyard. This of course was just a hot dog vendor.

I have it on my computer, and my house is blurred out because its near a river. Seems they cant get the scene right when its near water...sheesh!

Terrorist dont need Google Earth, they have detailed City maps to plan what they want to do, and they have maps that are free or cost little to everyone, if they want.

You dont know what a Terrorist is willing to go through to get what they want, and know where to get these things..Most are often there for the taking, whether its Government maps, or Google Earth.

I wish you well..

Yes and no. If the images were up to date, it would be a risk. However, the images are about 6-7 years old and are not that reliable.

Fun thing to play with though.
