Will someone remind these guys that evolution is still only a theory! We all know that scientist only deal in facts and absolutes. There is no hard evidence that evolution is fact. But today’s scientist chooses to treat evolution as fact. It is rare that we hear the phrase “evolution theory” anymore; it’s mostly referred as evolution. Science contradicts itself trying to explain evolution. How could a world full of may species of plants and animals that depend on each other to survive, come from a single celled organism that deepened on nothing? Without air you do not have the mammals, and without plants you do not have air. What about male/female, how did this design come from a simple organism? Many of today’s scientists have converted to Christianity, because of the many missing pieces of evolution and the evidence of a designed creation. Why do so many other scientist refer to evolution as fact? Such hypocrites!

PS: Gravity may be a theory to scientist. But to the rest of the word, it's fact. Proven, beyond all doubts. The method of gravity is theory!

Sure everything evolves. This is true, but there is no fact that one species can evolve into another, like man came from ape (evolution theory). Or ape came from a single cell organism. Our planet has constantly evolving. Science use evolution to explain creation as if it were fact(the reason I ask this question). If we all came from a single celled organism, where did the organism come from? Explain that!

So many of you mock God because of this question. The question wasn’t about God, but sense a few of you throw the word magic related to God into the picture. Then answer this, who or what did create us? Is it so simple that we exist? Evolution does not in any way explain the creation of life. Did a simple celled organism fly in from space and land here, and then evolve into an ecosystem? If it did, what created the first organism? Where did the first life on the planet come from? Did it evolve from nothing? NO, it was created! BS

Many scientists push evolution into the "fact" realm because they have attached their identity and beliefs to that. And they cannot contradict themselves.
It really is much like I believe as fact the natural creation order as depicted in the Bible. The difference is that I recognize that. While I do like to support it with facts and observations, it still is faith.
Evolution is the faith of many "scientists"

Well even if evolution is just a theory it has been tested and tested over time. Religion opposes it as it opposes religious beliefs, but over time has become less angered towards it as no one has ever been able to prove it wrong. Religious theory of how we all got here is hardly checked, and if you were told that a magician magically made a tennis ball with lots of evolved life forms on it, you would not believe it. This is essentially what the bible says happens. Evolution is a tested and sensible theory which fits in with what we already know. Evolution is impossible to prove as we cannot go back in time and watch it happen, but it makes sense: Things better adapted to there environment through mutation will survive. Religious theories are childish stories which too are not proved. The difference is that it is possible that religious theories could be proved - if God told us. Has he? NO. Also if religious theories are correct then we would never see things change. Before our eyes we are seeing Avian Flu mutate to make a stronger strain of the species - evolution. As evolution is taking place religious theories don't work.
Therefore it is much more sensible to choose evolution. Both are theories, and why not go along with the one which makes sense and is accepted by those of us who succeed in life and do well at school - the scientists.
One more thing - we don't know where the gases came from which started the big bang, BUT we can also argue that if God was there from the start, why couldn't the gases have just been there.

Back in 1998 there was a poll of scientist (I can't remember who-I can look it up) and only 55% believed in Darwinian evolution then. I'm sure it is less today, some of the younger scientist seem to question suppositions a little more than some of the older crowd.
There is quiet a good sized group scientist who believe in a literal 6-day creation. Many accept the gap theory and that God used evolution. What the majority of scientist believe has been shifting for the last 25 years or so. The main problem with evolution is and always been, that it is so vast and complex. Evolutionary theory has been evolving since its inception. Creation has not moved. I guess that evolutionist think if they keep moving, eventually they will hit on something.

Have you ever considered that evolution and Christianity go hand in hand? God created us, yes but why can't we have come from an single celled organism? Honestly to say that you do not beleive in evolution is to say that you don't beleive in reality. Evolution is a hard fact. Things constantly change and adapt throughout time. Just look at reptiles and amphibians and how much they have changed and adapted throughout history. If you think about how old the planet is in terms of being a day old humans make up the last second of the last minute of the last hour of that day. So, beleive it or not but human history is nothing compared to all the reptiles and other species that have come before us and have adapted and changed in order for their survival. As humans we most likely will destroy ourselves and the cockroaches will probally out live us all and a new species will reign over the world struggling for survival until their demise and the cycle is repeated. The best predictor of the future is the past so we must learn from our history to fully understand it our future.

well, it's hard to argue either side. I think the Big Bang Theory has come very close to proving the theory of evolution. Yet, no scientist, not even the great Hawkings can pin point what triggered it. I mean, that leaves a lot of room for theologists to suggest that God, or some spiritual form sparked the creation of the universe. It really depends on if your are a conceptual thinker, and your beliefs are set upon what you see, then you will probably side with scientists. If, on the other hand, you are a spiritual person who believes some higher power had its hand with the creation of the universe and helped with the evolution of all species, then you believe that God is the culprit. I myself believe in the higher power.

There is absolutely nothing in the world of science that is a fact. Take gravity, it is still this little thing called "the theory of gravity" Theory. Do you ever doubt there's gravity? No, but there's no way to prove something because you never know when gravity may suddenly without reason "shut off" Science is 99.99999% sure there's going to be gravity, but that's not a fact. Secondly, your idea of evolution as being a one celled organism and then suddenly being mammals and humans in one generation is greatly flawed. It took billions of years, with very slow improvements.

These are the questions that make me sad for the current state of our society. Evolution is based on thousands of smaller theories that have been scientifically proven and support the big picture of Evolution.
Talk about a hypocrite, you just accused science of believing in something that it could not provide absolute proof for. However, no Theist has ever provided absolute proof of God.
There is proof for evolution, though you have to comprehend what you're looking at and be able to analyze and understand the results of your study. It takes a long time and a lot of brain work to understand how evolution works. Sorry, but the tough answers in life are not spelled out in a single book.

Many people mistake the term Theory for Hypothesis. Here is a good definition of the term Theory:
In scientific usage, a theory does not mean an unsubstantiated guess or hunch, as it often does in other contexts. A theory is a logically self-consistent model or framework for describing the behavior of a related set of natural or social phenomena. It originates from and/or is supported by experimental evidence (see scientific method). In this sense, a theory is a systematic and formalized expression of all previous observations that is predictive, logical and testable. In principle, scientific theories are always tentative, and subject to corrections or inclusion in a yet wider theory. Commonly, a large number of more specific hypotheses may be logically bound together by just one or two theories. As a general rule for use of the term, theories tend to deal with much broader sets of universals than do hypotheses, which ordinarily deal with much more specific sets of phenomena or specific applications of a theory.

There is substantial evidence for evolution, but no evidence whatsoever for the fairy tale about Adam and Eve. So scientists go with the theory that makes most sense. Just because scientists don't have every fact, every question answered, doesn't mean that we should start assuming that the only credible answer is that God used magic to create us.

gravit is only a theory too, and we probably know less about how gravity works then evolution. There is plenty of evidence. the fossil record. not to mention observed instances of speciation.there were organisms that photosyntesized and created air. eons later came mammals. do some research.
By the way I am a Christian.

Gravity is also just a theory. Evolution has been "proven" to the point where it is acceptable to accept is as fact, just like gravity. When you start floating, then you can believe in Creationism.
