Ah the omnipotence paradox, a classic. Omnipotence is an impossibility (that won't stop people from saying God is omnipotent) because if they can make that mountain, then they can't be omnipotent anymore. If they can't, they can't make anything. For the first part, it'd be like having eternal life/invincibility and still being able to be hurt or killed. It just doesn't work like that. So God can't be all powerful, omnipotence is an impossibility.

First I Apologize for the trite and condescending replies. That is a very good guest ion, FOR AN ADULT TO ASK, in both undergraduate courses and in seminary or graduate programs you will need to reply to similar questions that professors throw out, and they want well thought out answers, not some of the silly replies about children etc. My answer to you is to consider the other attributes many maintain for the Monotheist God of the Three large faith traditions, (Hebrew, Christian and Islam). God is All Powerful, All Loving, and All Knowing. Now when equally attributed to God, yes he could if he did not know any better, that is a good example of how absolute power or the desire for more power in mankind can lead to some of the current ridiculous deaths and slaughterings of humankind the world and the U.S. are engaged in. The Knowledge and the Love of God demonstrate the knowledgeable and loving use of his power. Not that of a Mad God that breathes Fire and Brimstone. Hope this helps and;
May the Peace of the Loving God Bless you in your Journey.

Can you move a mountain? With enough faith you can. So yes God could make that mountain, but then why would He want to?

If God was truly omnipotent, He could make a rock that he couldn't lift, and could also lift it anyway if He chose to. How? I don't know, but I'm not God.
Total omnipotence means you have power over things like the structure of logic, so you can do logically contradictory things

One must understand that God is unlimited in power. He can do anything He wants as long as He doesn't do something that contradicts His power. For Him to create something so large that He would be unable to move it would contradict his unlimited power. To answer the question: Yes He could do it, but no He would not do it.

God is all powerful which means that he can do anything he wants too. If he wants to move a mountain, then he will. It doesn't matter how big it is!

There is nothing that God can not do. He made the mountain, and no matter how large he made it, he can move it.
