some parents have struggled with children lying or overreeacting at times and something like a killer in the room seems like a total overstatement. Most parents will try to tell their child that there isnt an dit is just like their imagination bcuz they crawled into bed the night b4 with parents to find out that there are no 'monsters' under their bed.

That is the problem with kids today. Parent's don't take the time to listen. If you have been abused by someone you need to contact someone who will listen. If you parents won't listen find an adult who will.

Well, I'm sorry to hear your parents are like that. My kids tell me everything and I always try to help them out. I usually ask my kids questions to figure out the whole story before I say much of anything on how they should or how we can handle it together. Try talking to another trusted adult if your parents won't listen to you even one of your friends parents that you feel close to.

Parents are human and they don't have to go to parenting classes. If you ask them to look at you and really listen because it is important would they? I am guessing if you tell them it is something really important, they would try their best. If not, then you need to find someone who can listen to you...an aunt, a counselor, someone.

Sometimes they are just plain stupid and don't want to believe the worst about somebody, so they turn a deaf ear or a blind eye at their own children's expense. In that case, you need to get outside help.

Because parents usually always choose the wrong words, and "tell" them things, instead of "commenting on" or "suggesting" things.

It's called "bad parenting".

After we all get done listening to all the excuses and BS, it's hard to know where the important stuff starts.
