Yes i do think they should wear clothes if you want them too. As a matter of fact I have a male apricot toy poodle who needs to stay warm because he is so small, so i dress him up in clothes because they help him stay warm and he looks so cute! Also if you want to spend the money on your dog why not clothes? I mean if you spend it on treats then they could get fat or hipper and if you spend it on toys then the toy will be everywhere. And hey its your dog and your money so do what you like and dress your dogs up like i do!

There's nothing wrong with pampering a loved pet. Attachment is a normal fact of life. And, if you suspect that pet clothing is cruel or mean, wake up... visit some animal rescue centers or read some articles on animal abuse sites and come up with your own educated conclusion. If people can buy custom wheels/stereos or plasma TVs for the home, the same relates to pet clothes. The world seems to center around people knocking other people for whatever reason, it's so lame and not worthy of discussion.
Food for thought, not all animals are climatized... as ppl have mentioned already about certain breeds. Here in Canada, we have extreme winters and if anyone thinks that a cat or dog can survive as is, is just fooling themselves and I certainly have to cough up a laugh. A friend told me that he found a cat in the trunk of his project car last winter, that cat was probably overcome by the elements... yeah, it was dead, the cat entered the trunk by squeezing through a rust hole in the quarter panel to find shelter, but alas...

Depends on the Breed. I have a Chihuahua ,6 pounds, and the only time he wears cloth ,when it rains. I have a rain coat for him.My other dog doesn't need a coat.
Otherwise it is only a money making market. Dogs have Fur long or short to protect from the elements

No! Dogs shouldn't wear clothes, not unless they have to. If you dog has a disease and is losing hair, and it is cold out, that I can understand, or if it naturally has short hair. But for our amusement? No. Especially not 24/7, their fur gets really matted under it after awhile, and then they will have to have the clothing cut off, and their fur shaved/cut off. An occasional hat on the holidays is fine, but nothing you wouldn't wear yourself, or that you think limits mobility, or they don't like in general.

Some dogs somewhat need to.
Like shorthair chiuhahuas, in the winter time when you walk them outdoors it's very easy for them to get sick and be extremely cold if they dont bundle up in a sweater. They dont naturally have enough fur OR fat on them to keep them warm.
As long as it's not 100 degrees outside, I think it's fine for a dog to wear clothes.
Pampers and panties though- THAT I DONT understand...

My two dogs do...I have a yorkie and a mini. Schnauzer and they wear clothes. But it is mainly in the winter time, the summer its just too hot and I know they are suffering. I know its crazy but I even have one of those dog strollers for mine. Especially my yorkie, when I go walking outside he can't keep up. So now he can just ride along and I don't have to carry him.

I think it looks pretty goofy most of the time...and it's a waste of money. But I guess for special occassions every now an then it can be cute. For instance my brother-in-law likes to put a Santa hat on his puppy at Christmas and I have to admit it does look adorable! So I think maybe it's okay in moderation.

No, that's ridiculous. Nature created them with an entire coat of hair. Plus if they're a pet, they are probably living indoors. They're taken care of!
Instead of spending billions on the pet care industry, why not clothe and feed all the humans first?
