My Hair is long and very thick. The Problem is that the under layer of my hair constantly breaks and gets damaged while the top layers are uber healthy. What can i do to make the under layers of my hair healthy too?

How does the underlayer get damaged without the top layer getting damage? Are you caring for your whole head the same? If your hair is very thick and it is way to heavy to where there is no air getting to your scalp underneath or on the back of your head that my be your problem, and it can be easily corrected with getting your hair thinned out. Find a good stylist though to do this if it isn't done correctly then you will be miss twiggy, and all kinds of twigs sticking out everywhere. It will look like you have all kinds of breakage. That will however lighten your hair and make your head feel alot better and cooler and it should help that underneath layer.

That's interesting, it's usually the other way around. Anyhow the best solution is to purchase a specific hair strengthening treatment from a professional salon or beauty supply. You could also visit your hairstylist for a deep conditioning treatment and get some recommendations there on products to use at home.

Hi, are you using store bought color??? DON'T! Go to someone you know that has a license and get Redken or another brand used in a salon that won't fry the hair! Then use a better shampoo and conditioner, with a once a week deep conditioner to maintain breakage!!

Use whatever conditoner you want but instead of applying to the top of your head apply to the bottom leave in for a long time. (30-55 seconds)

i recently bleached my hair to dye it purple and thought that i would have frizzy hair for the next couple of months. Instead i used some leave in conditioner and it worked wonders. i use garnier fructis. whatever leave in should work though. good luck
