Hmmm....mainly because they have VERY powerful advocacy groups DEMANDING money out of the american taxpayers' wallet. Vote against immigration amnesty, if you feel strongly about not having the United States become the Global Welfare Provider...and you're going to have to fire a bunch of people out of state and federal government, too...and I doubt they'll go quietly...

B/c Americans refuse to see what is really going on. They keep their heads up their butts and hope it'll all go away. They won't step up and assist those of us are trying to make a difference. They keep arguing the issue instead of researching and listening to the issues. They are being lead around by their bleeding hearts instead of their logical brains.
Jessica- Thank you!!
Vonnie - I don't know where you got your info. from, however, when you account for their (low) wage, the tax-paid (by US)services they get and the fact that nobody KNOWS how much they get paid in cash (since they only report the low wages) I guess anyone could save up enough money to put a substantial down payment on a new house, and I'm sure they 'qualify' for low interest loans, even though they are ILLEGAL criminals. You see, we have to file OUR income with the IRS and pay taxes on ALL of it. We don't lie to 'cheat' the system, as your illegal friends do. Those LEGAL citizens who abuse the system are wrong also. We as a country should and do deal with that issue, it's our business, not Mexicans, and even THEY are legal CITIZENS. WE will take care of that problem, however, that is irrelevant to the issue of ILLEGAL immigrants abusing the same system, it doesn't make it okay for illegals to do it, too.
OUR taxes paid for those schools, teachers and books. If an illegal immigrants kids are in the tax paid schools, even if those parents 'paid taxes' they are still illegal and should not be reaping the rewards of the American taxpayers many, many years of paying taxes. If they have been here long enough to have paid their fair share, they should have become LEGAL before now.

26 USC 1441
Code of Federal Regulations Sec. 1.1441-4 -- Exemptions from withholding for certain effectively connected income and other amounts.
...(b) Withholding is not required under Sec. 1.1441-1 from salaries, wages, remuneration, or any other compensation for personal services of a nonresident alien individual if such compensation is effectively connected with the conduct of a trade or business within the United States and-- ....(iii) Such compensation is for services performed by a nonresident alien individual who is a resident of Canada or Mexico and who enters and leaves the United States at frequent intervals."
There's the key. CFR 1.1441-4(b)(iii). Politicians ever put that up for a vote.
So, that we have is income tax immunity to illegal aliens from Mexico and Canada.
American's are unaware & the laws need to be changed.

The myth of “lazy” immigrants cheating U.S. taxpayers and living off welfare couldn’t be farther from the truth.
According to a 2004 study by the Urban Policy Institute, virtually all undocumented men--96 percent--and 62 percent of undocumented women are in the workforce. According to a March report from the Pew Hispanic Center, of the more than 11 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S., 7.2 million were employed in March 2005, making up approximately 4.9 percent of the labor force in the U.S.
Overall, immigrants--both documented and undocumented--are a huge boon to the U.S. economy. And as for what’s “fair,” the U.S. government takes far more from undocumented immigrants than it ever gives back.
In 2001, then-Federal Reserve Chair Alan Greenspan testified before Congress that in the state of Illinois alone, "[undocumented] workers pay $547 million in taxes yearly, compared to $238 million in services used"--a net “profit” for Illinois of $309 million. And according to a report in last year’s New York Times, each year, undocumented immigrants pay an estimated $7 billion more than they get from Social Security and $1.5 billion more than they get from Medicare.
The Internal Revenue Service issues “Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers” (ITINs) to allow undocumented workers to pay income taxes. Since 1996, 9.2 million of these numbers have been handed out. According to the Los Angeles Times, last year, 1.2 million people paid taxes using ITINs.

The federal government has been pretending that hampering our children's education and health care for our elderly isn't important as long as large corporations get cheap labor. After all, what's good for GM is good for America!
But not when America subsidizes educatiion and health care for the work force for their employees to the point where these services don't adequately take care of our own anymore.

Send a letter and be certain to thank the Democrats. Republicans have been trying for years to rid the country of illegals, but the Dem's keep pushing for 'compassion'....aka 'amnesty'.
