Does god still exist in the event that all humans die? If so, what does he do? Does he take care of animals that are left? Sheppard of the cockroaches?

God doesn't exist even if there isn't a catastrophe.

Humans aren't everything in the Universe. We aren't the center of creation -- there are so many more larger and greater things out there in the Cosmos that we, humans, are only but a minor part of an enormous World.

I believe that if God exists, God doesn't simply "look after" us, but the entirety of the Universe. This includes hundreds of other galaxies that we haven't even learned of their existance. There may be life on other planets that we couldn't even imagine life to be able to sustain itself on.

You have to see the "big picture" to understand God's power, and I think even if the Earth blew up or humans died out, if a God exists now, then that God will exist as long as our Cosmos exists.

From what we can see from religion, whatever Higher Being exists now will still exist. Even if all humans die, there will still be life, not only on Earth, but perhaps on distant planets. Earth is not the center of the universe, and the universe is not based on humans. Therefore, there could be other life out there that, if there is one, the Higher Being/God would look after.

Well, 1st, yes, He still exists. 2nd, all the people who followed Him would go to Heaven, and we'd all live their forever. The ones who didn't follow....

The greatest gift God ever gave himself/herself was to forget he/she was God.

Well, what would you do if all *your* children were killed in a catastrophe? Cease to exist? Perhaps have more children? ;-)
