I think the fact that he has spent what sounds like quality time with you and your family is answer enough. He likes you. I don't do those things unless I like someone in a more long term way(especially considering you two haven't slept together). I hope this becomes a happy story. Good luck.

5 to 6 dates should tell you something about the relationship. If he's serious about you then, ask where he thinks this is going !!!

Well...sometimes you don't need to ask, sometimes you just KNOW. Know what I mean? If you need to ask, then chances are that the relationship is going nowhere. That's my 2 cents.
