to believe in a god you need faith and nothing else

God...The proof is all around you..all you have to do is look with an open eye and heart and I promise God will show you he is and will always be there...It is as easy as pretty much saying (to yourself or out loud) "I want to get to know you." It is faith based to a point, do not think that once you and the lord are "tight" that you will not see his workings and wonders until you die...Not at all, you will be amazed at some of the stuff that will happen (there are times when I am SHOCKED to tears in a good way). Also, remember since it seems you are actually looking for God, "someone" else is not too happy. His job is to do pretty much everything to keep you away from God and seeing the truth. SO you might get answers from people which are being used to keep you away from the truth. Search and see with your heart, the truth will find you.

God bless you, and I hope to see you on the other side....

Personally, I think God, but of course that is only my opinion. In almost any other situation people definatlely wouldneed proof in order to believe anything. If it hasnt been proven or done before people are always apprehensive about believing anything. But other than reading some kind of scripture as any proof that God exists everything lies in faith, since none of us were alive during the biblical time. Thats what its all about. Also, the thought of the reward by going to heaven if you believe in God also gives people a reason to believe. So much emphasis is put on the idea that if you dont follow God's word that you will go to hell and suffer forever is not very appealing and can scare people into believing in God. But no one can really know until they die.

You can not have blind faith. That is not what the bible teaches. In the book of James it says what faith is. It is based on works, it is based on the things heard, and the things heard moves us to do that work. What is that work? It is found at Matthew 28:19, 20. It makes no sense for a Christian to blindly believe in God without a logical reason, it's based on proof. To belive that a God exsists, one has to have the proof to prove it. The bible does that and so does creation. So, no, blind faith is not the answer, it is faith based on the things heard and seen. That is why the bible was written, so that ones could believe in God by the works of Christ and by the history of mankind and so forth. If it was only "blind" faith needed, then what was the point of the bible?

There is no god. It is simply a method to control large groups of people. Give people something in common to believe in and they will kill for this cause. There will NEVER be proof of god, it will always be blind faith. Why would people agree to this. Well apart from tradition many people are simply scared to imagine the possibility that in truth they are meaningless. They cannot fathom that they are not the most important entities in the universe and thay some ultimate being made them and loves them on a personal level. Just writing that sounds crazy but they believe it anyway. For others their belief is merely an insurance policy, how many times have you heard "Well the alternative is hell so what do I have to lose?" Another silly answer because instead of assisting their fellow man they spend time singing in church and praising an imaginery lord. Where are the "Believers" helping out the people of Darfur? Where are they in Zimbabwe where AIDS and a crazy Dictator have lowered the life expectancy to 36 years?

Im my opinion most people don't even believe in god, they just use the name as a way to espouse their own personal belief systems, people like Pat Robertson calling for assasinations in the name of god etc etc.

Anyone who has grace, will find proof everywhere they look:
In the wisdom of strangers when we need answers...
In the stories of others, with lives we could never have imagined...
In the voice of Israeal Kamakawiwo'ole when he sings Over the Rainbow...
In the soul of a man telling newscameras how it affected him, witnessing people jumping from the 18th floor of The World Trade Center...
But, the God they find is not the judgemental one who makes demands.
And, Faith isn't real if it rests on the existence of God, or depends any other truth. Faith means that you don't have to know.

There is no God. You can never prove that God exists or not because of the very nature of faith.

Religion is a relic from the early primitive days. For example, the mountain would shudder and primitive man would say that God was angry and sacrifice virgins (the poor virgins) to appease the God of the Mountain. Thousands died by this and other similar ways. Today we understand the nature of volcanoes and no longer sacrifice virgins (I think...)

"Modern" man tends to confuse spirituality and religion. One can be spiritual and not religious, but many people are unable to separate the two.

Most of the major religions have very violent histories and attract extreme and ignorant people. Remember the Inquisition, the Crusades, 9/11,....?

I believe there is a God. Through my faith, I interpret the things around me as "proof" of His existance.

There are those who do not believe in the existance of a Supreme Being, and they see the same things I do, but interpret it as "proof" that there is no God.

the shown fact that each and each historical subculture didnt share faith, language, math, technology, persons memories, rituals, even physique portray. yet all of them shared one ingredient, one uncomplicated denominator: a God. im no longer conversing approximately thor, god of thuder or windman, im conversing pertaining to to the great spirit, and all those different suggestions that each and each subculture looked as though it could have of a extensive mack daddy who replace into acceptable over each and every thing. i dont comprehend if that's often seen 'evidence' even yet it could easily be seen thrilling. additionally there is the 1st regulation of thermodynamics-no longer something can come from no longer something, some thing could've had to make everthing, or a minimum of put in place the tings for the massive bang. additionally look at chemistry. each and each capacity point of an atom fills completely, with precision, a logical way of 2n^2. I believe when it comes to "God" you either have faith or not, because you will never have all the answers, but when it comes to religions trust should be earned, to blindly follow another human being and not learn to think for yourself is not really smart. Just look at history, open a book and you will know why.

Nobody but the insecure and gullible need a god nowadays. God was invented out of necessity by man to explain the inexplicable – crop failure, lightning etc. Whilst there is still a lot to be explained even now, the sane and mature amongst us no longer need a god.
