If its a woman, try to zip it for her.... see how fast you get slapped.
If its a man, say,"Hey man stop showing off!" and point.
If its a kid, stay away... they might make you out to be a kiddie predator.

This is a difficult situation.
If I feel comfortable enough telling the person, (without fear of harm or retaliation), I typically tell them. I would wish to know if something embarassing was going on.
Everyone seems to act differently when you mention such things to them. Some will be angry at you, some will be embarassed, and others may even be quite thankful.
Although it takes courage on your end, you can be happy in the knowledge that nobody else would be shocked or offended by it. You have improved others days... just maybe not the wearer. :)

It's the most fun to tell this, when the zip is actually NOT unzipped!!
More seriously, if it a boss, don't say anything. Just make the bloke look stupid.
Only do it to a friend who knows you, or else you may pass as gay...snooping at other guyz zippers in that fashion!!!!

There's a balancing act here. You want to be able to tell the person without anyone else hearing, but you should also tell them as soon as possible. It can be embarrassing, so be quiet about it and don't take it personally if they act strangely immediately afterwards.

As soon as you:
a) notice
b) can do so discreetly.
Even if you notice it right away, you don't want to blurt it out in front of a group of 15 people - that would be embarrassing to the one who left the barn door open. :)
I try to put myself in the shoes of the other - if I had something on my face/in my teeth/unzipped - I'd want to know right away. But I wouldn't want it brought up in front of others...

I think telling someone would be the nice thing to do. Just make sure you tell them discreetly. If they still get upset then just say "I only thought you would like to know so that you don't go walking around all day with your fly down."
I also let people know when they have something in their nose.

Tell them discretely. I'd like to know if I walked around all day with my jeans unzipped, but I wouldn't want the world to know.

Take a good look at the person, and if he seems decent and more importantly face appears relaxed, tell him at the earliest opportunity. If he appears stiff faced, leave him alone, it is unlikely that he would appreciate, or even take it in the right sense !

Try telling them in a whisper or covertly so that there is less embarasment. Unless they want them to be unzipped!
