You'll survive. You'll meet people in your classes, and get to know people, and make friends. Even if your shy, you'll find people. I went to a high school that had over 3000 students. You only notice that at assemblies because the rest of the time, you are in classes of about 30 students. Relax, it'll be fun, and you'll make friends.

Regardless of the amount of students in a school, people find a way to come together. I have been in tiny schools, where the elementary school was just nextdoor to the middle/high combined school. I had a very similar experience to schools that were massive.. and had what seemed thousands more.

I believe whichever environment you are in, you will find something in common with people. You will just start up a conversation with someone, or vice versa... and realize how amazing this person is.

There will most likely be others who are in situations that are relatively similar. They are afraid of the changes, also. It may just happen where you will have the opportunity to meet these people and gain lifelong friendships.

On the other side, you may meet someone who feels very comfortable in this school.. and they may wish to help you through the stages of change.

Overall, you sound like a great person.. I doubt you will have any problem finding friends.

Best wishes!!

It sounds like you're in elementary school and I'm you'll stay in the same classroom (which is good). I doubt the number of students at the new school will matter much to you because you'll be a classroom of 25-30 students. No doubt the teacher will have activities that will allow you to get to know many of your new classmates. And during lunch you could see your neighborhood friend. At first you won't know any of your classmates but in a short time you'll get to know them and I'm sure your shyness will melt away. The teacher may keep an eye on you to see how your doing. Most elementary teachers keep an eye on any new students to see how they're doing in their new environment. It will be ok

Take it as a learning experience. Test yourself by just going up to new people and talking to them, as hard as it can be... Moving can be hard at times but generally everyone survives. People who move often times become much less shy and are better able to make TONS of friends in the long run. You will be fine, just try to find your friend from your neighborhood for lunch...if not, find the nicest looking group of girls and start talking.

Just be confident. If you do something stupid, no one will remember it within a week.

Dont worry about it. If there are mor epeople in the school there are better chances of someone being nice, and that you get along pretty well. What I reccomend is,
1. Seem secure when you are presented in class.
2. Talk to the person sitting next to you in class.
3. Be nice.
4. Say Hi...
I've gone to like 5 diferent schools and it always works for me. Dont be intimidated... and always have a smile (people really like that..!)
Good Luck!!

Wow! What an opportunity to make new friends and meet interesting people! Be yourself. If someone looks at you, smile and say hi. Look for activities that you really enjoy and join them-there will be people there that share your interests and you can make new friends. Be friendly. Don't stay in the corner or the back of the room or with your head in your locker. Look up, walk with confidence and SMILE.

well. this year i moved to a new school and what i did is try to make peace with kids in your class first and be able to feel comfortable around any of them then be a total social bug. but not those reall annoying people that are clingy in stuff. try to be yourself. dont act tough. also try not to showoff. because people tend to be very judgemental when it comes to show offs;) well i guess thats it

get to kno this girl that you kno is going to your school...she can show you around and have you get to kno other kids..then become friends. Sit with her at lunch if you 2 have the same lunch next year...you'll survive...trust me. When I moved back to my home state (where i am now) I started out in high school in 9th grade with out no friends...then...soon...before you kno it I knew alot of kids i remembered from elementary and they did to. So then I got other friends I didn't kno. This made me feel more welcome to that school and more accepted. So you'll survive.

When moving you need to make friends quickly join lots of clubs and activities, Great way to make friends and force yourself to be more outgoing if your shy. Hopefully your new friends are smart so they can help you with subjects if you need help. Hope that helps you.

My school has like 1500 (yeah, it's a public school). Just try to get the lay of the land, and try to find a group to fit in with.

Dan w is crazed (too much Marilyn Manson, I guess). Please don't arm yourself, as that's pretty illegal in most states.
