If you were called to the Military and they were to send you to Iraq you don't have a choise as to what you would do and wouldn't do. When the military tells you something. You can't question it or tell them no. Unless of course you are wanting to go through a life of hell afterwards. So in other words you have no say as to what you would or wouldn't do if you were called up and sent overseas. You just have to follow orders.

If I were called, no. If I were drafted, that's a different story. I would then have no choice. Most likely I would look at it as death on an installment plan via Uncle Sam. I would prepare my husband and child about my leaving and would do a lot of praying and trust in God big time. I would do as I was called to do in the line of duty and be obedient as possible due to the fact that my rebellion and disobedience in war could jeopardize the lives of my fellow soldiers who got my back. I would really appreciate my freedom and all the little things I took for granted and should I return by the grace of God in one piece, I would thank the Lord with all my heart, love and kiss my hubby and baby, appreciate, love and respect every person whoever served in the Armed Forces and continue to pray for them and thank them for my freedom here and my right to protest and walk down the street in peace.

I've done it and I'll do it again and again.
It surprises me that people think they know (or have the gall the say since they won't even go) what we're thinking and feeling.
I don't personally know any soldier who's resolve has changed (except wanting to get terrorists even more) since that second plane hit the building.
If we don't, then there will be a lot more American civillian deaths as well as others who don't believe the way they do.

Are you saying if the draft were reinstated?
If the draft were reinstated. . .would they draft anyone to fight IN IRAQ anyway? My guess is that your question would be a little more difficult to answer if we wound up in a more wide spread fight throughout the world which would include Iran, North Korea, Russia and China. Then a draft would be almost inevitable. Then how could that be answered?
If my country and my elected officials call on me to fight how could I betray them?

What kind of chickenshit wouldn't go? Stop watching "The Daily Shower." You have a better chance of winning the local lotto than being killed in Iraq.

I am 46 and chronically ill. If healthy and younger, I'd like to think so. But if they have to institute a draft (the services are falling way short of its quotas), you can bet that the U.S. borders will be shut down--not to keep Mexicans and terrorists out, but us in.

I'm already in the Military and I have been to Iraq.

However if I wasn't in I would do it all over again because I love my nation and I believe in the cause we are fighting for.

God Bless America.

If I were able to go, and was called, I would not hesitate.

I served my time in the 70s, and at time time have disabilites that would preclude me from going to war.

I support my President in any manner in which he wants to go for the direction of my Country. He is elected into the "highest office of the land" and its my duty to do what I can to protect my Country, as the bible says, we should obey our masters.

I wish you well..

Jesse

nooo. i dont think i could handle seeing friends i might make being killed, or having a guilty conscience after shooting someone. i know i sound like a sissy, but i dont think i could stomach the fact that i'm going to a country that really had nothing to do with 9/11 in the first place, and shoot people there. well if i had to go to afghanistan, i think i'd go there instead.
