Let me try to clarify the ad you saw.
Many breeders will list their puppies on the internet when they are only a few days of age.
People will respond to their ads and pick out a puppy, usually the buyer is looking for a specific color and want to be sure they have the first chance to get it.
When the breeder says the puppy is "SOLD" it means the person that wants that specific puppy has sent the breeder a deposit to "Hold" the puppy for them until it is ready to leave the mom.
Breeders wean at different times.
I wean when I feel the mom and puppies are able to handle the seperation, anywhere from 6 weeks to 11 weeks.
After about 5 weeks the milk from the mom really doesn't have much nutrional value, it is more a security thing for the smaller size puppies. The smaller a puppy is, the longer I allow it to nurse the mom.
Also, do not be mis-led by the ads that advertise t-cup, toy or mini Chihuahuas.
ALL Chihuahua are classed as a toy breed, it has nothing to do with their size. A toy could be 4lb or it could be 14lb
There is *****NO***** way to guarantee a puppies weight.
I have been raising Chihuahua for over 15 years, I can give you a pretty close guess what the puppy will weigh as an adult. But the key word here is...guess.
That is like you looking at 20 new-born babies and telling the parents what their baby will weigh when they are 18 years old.
IT CAN'T BE DONE
For a full-blooded Chihuahua puppy, you can expect to pay at LEAST $250.00 and that is for one with out papers.
Any ad asking less than that, you should be very, very cautious of, be sure to have a vet check out the puppy BEFORE you pay.
You will not want to take a small size puppy (of any breed) away from its mom until it is at least 7 or 8 weeks of age.
It can be done under extreme circumstances, like the moms milk dries up or the puppy is too weak/small to nurse on its own and the larger puppies push it off the teat.
Good luck, but dont rush out and buy a cheap Chihuahua, they sometimes turn out to be something only remotely related to a Chihuahua.

Before you an your mom adopt a puppy you need to be more informed about dogs. You cannot get a dog that young. They have to be 6-8 weeks old. You both need to do some research on dogs before getting one. A new puppy isn't a toy. A chihuahua can live 15 years or longer. You need to be prepared.

No person in their right mind would sell a puppy before it is 8 weeks old. Nor would a toy breed go for such little money. It would cost around $1,200 for a male $1,500 for a female at the cheapest. They can be priced up to $5,000.

you can't buy a puppy that young. some pet stores and breeders sell them at 6 weeks but that's still too young. they should wait until 10 weeks that way they are around their mother and sisters and brothers so they learn to socialize and their mother and siblings can teach them way more stuff than a human when they are that young. it's just better for the dog in the long run.

you cannot buy a dog that young. They need to be with their birth mothers for at least 6 weeks before they can be sold by a breeder or pet store.

If your mom knows anything about dogs you wouldn't be on here asking such a question. You cannot take a 2 week old from it's mother! It will DIE. I'm sure there is someone who will sell you one but I really hope you never find them.

well you won't find one that young because it's still nursing from it's mom. But you can try the newspaper and Internet and see if there are any breeders in your area.
